Some people walk it - others use it as a welcome running and training route: the Talkesselrunde in the Landeck valley basin is familiar to pretty much everyone and there are several versions and variations depending on where you live and your preferences. The Landecker Talkessellauf is entering its third edition this year - on Saturday, 12 April 2025, all children, junior, amateur and professional runners, as well as wheelchair users, will once again be able to get their money's worth and take part in sporting activities right in the Landecker Talkessel!
Race against the clock
The start/finish area is located at the old cinema in Landeck. There, spectators and participants can expect a colourful mix of music from the Earthtones, entertainment, food stands and exciting sporting exhibitors. A fan base will be set up at the Riefengebäude in Zams, where spectators can cheer on the athletes and runners and fans can enjoy refreshments.
Route of the main competition
The start and finish are at the old cinema in Landeck, in the foyer of which the starting numbers will be distributed. The route runs through the meeting zone over the Andreas Hofer Bridge past the BH and Hotel Sonne to Perfuchs, via Burschl, Sonnenweg and Lötz to Zams and via the Zams hospital, Blütenallee and Riefe to the Landeck recycling centre and further behind the barracks via Urtl and Maisengasse back to the city centre to the finish at the old cinema. The route is around 11 kilometres long and there are around 200 metres of elevation gain to overcome. Along the route, marshals and colour markings guide the way. A supporting programme of entertainment, music and culinary delights awaits runners and spectators at the start and finish area and the award ceremony for the various categories takes place after the race. as in previous years, the main competition can be completed in individual or team classification. The main race is scored in age groups that always cover a decade. In the team classification, the average time of all team members is calculated. All team runners are automatically included in the individual classification. Of course, the Talkesselrunde can also be run at a leisurely pace. Please register according to age groups. If participants are overtaken by the "broom wagon", they are welcome to complete the route at their own risk and in compliance with the road traffic regulations.the children's run will be held in two variants: for children up to 5 years of age, half the meeting zone (approx. 350m), for children over 5 years of age, the entire meeting zone (approx. 700m) in the city centre.there is also the option for wheelchair users to complete a 4 km long, asphalt route on which approx. 25 metres of altitude have to be overcome.
