From 8 to 10 August 2025, the centre of Lienz will once again be transformed into a colourful festival mile: At the Lienz Summer Festival, organised by the East Tyrol Tourist Board in close cooperation with the municipality and 28 local associations, visitors can expect a weekend with over 60 bands, music bands and DJs and genuine East Tyrolean joie de vivre - with free admission and for all generations. New at the Lienz 2025 summer festival: The Gluschtspecht - East Tyrol's culinary pleasure pass.
28 Lienz clubs will be serving regional delicacies - savoury, vegetarian, sweet and, above all, homemade - on eight squares. Those who can't decide where and what to eat first at the Lienz Summer Festival will be served a charming solution this year: the Gluschtspecht. The new voucher system invites visitors to savour the culinary diversity of the regional gastronomy stands - instead of eating their fill of one portion.
In East Tyrol, this is the name given to someone who enjoys good food, likes to savour it and consciously celebrates culinary delights. The Gluschtspecht is therefore a real gourmet - and thus the perfect symbol for the convivial, enjoyable attitude to life that characterises the Lienz Summer Festival from 8 to 10 August 2025. For € 33.00, guests receive a voucher sheet with 9 vouchers, which can be redeemed at all participating stands for the small tasting dishes in the standardised Gluschtspecht bowl. The principle: taste, share, enjoy - whether with family, friends or alone as a real Gluschtspecht. A limited number of Gluschtspecht vouchers will be available from Monday, 28 July at the tourist information office in Lienz (ground floor) and later directly on site at the festival grounds. If you want to get your hands on one in good time, you can also buy your copy in advance from the participating clubs.
