Tyrol's calendar of events is filled with exciting events to cheer on and take part in, not just in winter but also in the summer months. Both top and amateur athletes can put their skills and stamina to the test and compete against each other in a wide range of disciplines. A selection of the top events in Tyrolean summer 2024:

Run, cycle or climb across the finish line yourself: the heart of the Alps offers amateur athletes many opportunities to demonstrate their skills and perform at their best in an impressive mountain setting with its numerous mass sports events. HillClimb in Brixen im Thale - 22 June 2024The HillClimb in the Kitzbühel Alps on 22 June 2024 will once again guarantee pure excitement. The successor event to the former KitzAlpBike Festival has a new format this year and will be an event for everyone. Various classes will enable exciting competitions for both professionals and amateurs. In the new backpack class, participants even have the opportunity to choose their own bike type - from mountain bikes and gravel bikes to e-bikes, everything is allowed. The extensive supporting programme includes a bike simulator and various technical training sessions for the general public.

Ischgl Ironbike - 2 to 3 August 2024The Ischgl Ironbike is one of the toughest mountain bike races in Europe. The legendary event will take place for the 29th time on 2 and 3 August 2024 and will once again attract numerous athletes and fans to Ischgl. The toughest category of the race covers 71 kilometres and 3,200 vertical metres over historic, partly asphalted, partly gravelled smugglers' paths through the fascinating mountain landscape from Ischgl via Galtür to Samnaun and back again. In addition to the bike marathon as a highlight, there will also be a large expo area and a version of the bike competition suitable for kids and juniors. The short track is also new - a discipline that promises to be particularly exciting for spectators.

Mountain bike enthusiasts are spoilt for choice in Tirol: numerous events with a great supporting programme will once again fill the event calendar in summer 2024. A selection of the best MTB events can be found at www.tirol.at/top-bikeevents.

Kufsteinerland Cycle Marathon - 25 August 2024Overgentle hills and crisp climbs, through scenic valleys and past several bathing lakes - all this awaits participants at the Kufsteinerland Cycle Marathon, which will be held for the eighth time on 25 August 2024. There are three disciplines to choose from: The cycling marathon route (120 kilometres, 1,800 metres in altitude) challenges even professionals, while the slightly shorter Lakes Circuit (95 kilometres, 1,160 metres in altitude) offers everything for ambitious amateur athletes. You can take a more leisurely approach on the panoramic tour through the Inn Valley (48 kilometres, 400 metres in altitude). All races start and finish at the upper town square in Kufstein.

1.Paznaun Ischgl Ultra Trail - 12 to 13 July 2024Anew event in the trail running calendar can be found in Ischgl this year: at the first Paznaun Ischgl Ultra Trail (PIUT), amateur and professional runners can compete on four panoramic trails of varying difficulty across the Paznaun - from See to Kappl and Galtür to Ischgl, each location offers a variety of challenges. Trail run pros compete in the PIUT 85 on over 5,200 metres in altitude and 85 kilometres, including four stages of the Paznaun High Trail. Shorter distances between 20 and 50 kilometres are also available, and mini-athletes can get their first taste of racing at the PIUT KIDS RUN.

KAT100 by UTMB - 1 to 3 August 2024At the KAT100 by UTMB in PillerseeTal, trail runners lace up their running shoes from 1 to 3 August 2024 and run five distances across the Kitzbühel Alps. With the "100 Miles" distance, this event also features Austria's longest ultra trail - 173.2 kilometres and 9,929 metres in altitude over scenic mountain trails and rocky passages. With the Endurance Trail, Marathon Trail, Speed Trail and Easy Trail, there are several other distances to take part in - always starting from the event location of Fieberbrunn. And running enthusiasts can put their stamina to the test on the Kids Trail. The event has also been part of the UTMB World Series since 2023.

Zillertaler Steinbockmarsch - 17 August 2024The"classic alpine march" is already over 50 years old and in August 2024 will once again cover a 30-kilometre route through the Zillertal Alps - 1,871 metres in ascent and 1,610 metres in descent. Starting at 5 a.m. at the Nature Park House in Ginzling, the route then leads towards the Floitental valley with its great views and on to the highest point, the Mörchnerscharte at almost 2,900 metres, before continuing via the Berliner Hütte and the Zemmgrund to the finish at Alpengasthof Breitlahner.

Arlberger Wadlbeißer - 31 August 202413.5 kilometres, 700 metres in altitude and 24 obstacles: The Arlberger Wadlbeißer at the end of August 2024 is a special kind of obstacle course. It demands everything from the participants - they have to run, slide and scramble to successfully reach the finish line. In addition to the long distance, there is also a shorter route with seven kilometres and 15 obstacles. Both variants lead through the impressive surrounding mountains of St. Anton am Arlberg.

Red Bull Dolomitenmann - 7 September 2024The Red Bull Dolomitenmann, one of the toughest relay competitions in East Tyrol, will take place against the fascinating backdrop of the Dolomites on 7 September 2024. Around 100 teams from all over the world will compete against each other in the disciplines of mountain running, paragliding, whitewater kayaking and mountain biking. In the energy-sapping endurance challenge, four athletes battle against steep slopes, unpredictable winds, raging floods and extreme terrain for the title of "Red Bull Dolomitenmann". Both the audience and the athletes at the extreme sports event can once again look forward to a good dose of fun and action.

Spectators can experience the world's best athletes from a wide range of sports up close and cheer them on at numerous top sporting events in Tyrol. From climbing to cycling to tennis: the following events will once again attract the world's elite to Tirol in summer 2024:

Tour of the Alps - 15 to 19 April 2024Theseventh edition of the Tour of the Alps will once again lead over challenging routes and impressive landscapes through the European region of Tyrol - South Tyrol - Trentino this year. As part of the UCI ProSeries, the race will once again inspire more than 150 participating professional cyclists and numerous fans. Both the finish of the second stage in Stans and the start and finish of the third stage in Schwaz are located in the Karwendel Silver Region this year. The five stages cover a total of 709.3 kilometres and 13,250 metres in altitude.

Crankworx Innsbruck - 12 to 16 June 2024Innsbruckwill host the world's biggest gravity mountain bike festival Crankworx for the eighth time in June 2024. Fans can once again look forward to a spectacular show at the Bikepark Innsbruck on the Muttereralm and cheer on their favourites in slopestyle, speed-and-style, dual slalom, whip-off and on the pump track. At the only European stop of the World Tour this year, the world's best bikers in each discipline will once again be competing against each other. For the first time, women will also be competing in slopestyle in Tyrol.

IFSC Climbing World Cup Innsbruck - 24 to 30 June 2024Over400 athletes from 40 nations will return to Innsbruck at the end of June 2024 to put their skills to the test at the IFSC Climbing World Cup. The international competitions in the four disciplines of lead, bouldering, speed and paraclimbing promise a top-class climbing event for spectators. A great atmosphere and impressive performances are guaranteed, as Tyrol's provincial capital offers the last opportunity this year to determine where you stand in the bouldering and lead disciplines before the Olympic Games in Paris.

Generali Open Kitzbühel - 20 to 27 July 2024Austria'sbiggest clay court tournament turns 80! Just one week before the Summer Olympics in Paris, thousands of tennis fans are once again expected to attend the Generali Open in Kitzbühel this year. For a whole week, the world's best tennis players will be battling it out in the Gamsstadt as part of the ATP World Tour for the coveted Kitzbühel trophy and the highly lucrative prize money. Exciting matches guaranteed for spectators!
