Verliebt in Seefeld: Skilehrer Mike Hansler sucht in der niederländischen Dating Show seine Traumfrau

Updated on 31.12.2024

Ten years ago, Mike Hansler from Rotterdam moved to Seefeld with his parents. It was pure chance that brought the Dutchman to Tyrol's high plateau and subsequently to the foot of the Geigenbühel ski lift. Today he is at home here, runs the Seefeld ski school on his behalf and can no longer imagine living anywhere else. The only thing missing is the perfect woman to really settle down. That's why, from 6 January 2025, the likeable ski instructor will be looking for his Mrs Right on the well-known Dutch dating show, Winter vol Liefde.

Chance plays an important role in Mike's Tyrolean life. We and the millions of Dutch fans of the dating show will find out in January whether it has also brought him his dream woman. Mike himself knows what will be flickering across the screen from 6 January, of course, as filming already took place in winter 2024. But he can't reveal anything, just smile meaningfully.

His patient smile is also familiar to the children of Tyrol's high plateau who have learnt to ski with him over the past ten years. Mike has not only been in charge of the children's section of the ski school for four years, he is also a ski instructor with heart and soul. He didn't come to Seefeld for the snow or the skiing. Nor, like many of his fellow countrymen, did he go on holiday to Tyrol as a child. "I just wanted to live abroad for a while after completing my studies. It could have been Spain," he says with a laugh. But friends of his parents had taken over the Kracherlemoos restaurant at the time and offered the whole family a job. "That's how it became Seefeld."

Mike began his working life in the restaurant kitchen at the foot of the Geigenbühel. "I watched the ski courses from there every day and always thought to myself, that's what I want to do," says the now 34-year-old. He studied skiing as a subject during his sports degree in Holland, learnt it in Winterberg in Hochsauerland (Germany) and completed the Dutch ski instructor training course during the course of his studies. "After a few weeks, I finally went to Werner Seelos and asked him if he still needed a ski instructor." The answer - "you can start tomorrow" - changed everything. Mike hung up his kitchen apron and put on his skis and ski boots instead. His mum now also works at the children's ski school, looking after children away from the slopes. Only Mike in the Hansler family can still ski. He has completely lost his heart to it and would love to stay forever between Geigenbühel, Birkenlift, Gschwandtkopf and Rosshütte and, together with the ski school mascot, Gizzy the dragon, inspire all the children to ski.

As a genuine Tyrolean ski instructor, Mike was naturally the first choice in ski-mad Holland when it came to casting the dating show Winter vol Liefde . This works in a similar way to the German-language programme Bauer sucht Frau. The only difference is that on Dutch television it's not farmers who are looking for love, but Dutch people living abroad, and almost the whole country joins in the excitement. The show has an audience of millions on live television and on Dutch streaming giant Videoland, and its participants are stars. "It's crazy, I've had a coach preparing me for a year," says Mike, smiling modestly. "Everyone says I still have no idea what to expect. And that's probably true." His phone has been ringing more frequently since the end of November, and from Christmas everyone is expecting guests to book into Seefeld especially to see Mike live. A couple from season one were literally stalked by fans in their adopted home of Switzerland. "I'm not scared yet, but I'm a bit excited to see what happens."

The filming last January lasted three weeks and was very intense. "In the first week, I tried to work at the ski school on the side, but after that it was impossible." For twelve hours a day, everything revolved around getting to know the candidates and capturing the best, authentic shots. "The film team and I almost became a family, but I was only allowed to speak to the selected ladies on camera," he recalls. So that the audience doesn't miss an important moment or a decisive sentence from 6 January 2025.

Of course, Mike was not allowed to reveal whether he had found the woman of his life. For almost a year, there has been silence about what happened in the winter of 2024. "It's extremely difficult," he admits. But the TV coach is doing a great job. Now, just a few days before the first episode, the tension is mounting: will there be a lot of hype on Tyrol's high plateau, will there soon be a new wife and ski instructor at Mike's side in Seefeld or will his life be calmer again from February?

We and millions of Dutch people will find out from 6 January 2025 on RTL 4 in Winter vol Liefde .
