MOUNTOPOLIS VERTICAL feiert Premiere bei der 6. Mayrhofen Ultraks Zillertal

In just over a month, it will be that time again. The 6th edition of the Mayrhofen Ultraks Zillertal is coming up. With a predicted record number of over 1,200 participants, runners from all over Europe will compete on challenging trails on 6/7 September and put their stamina and strength to the test. Exciting new features promise additional highlights for athletes and spectators alike.

The 6th edition of the Mayrhofen Ultraks Zillertal will once again live up to its reputation and promises participants "no mercy for the calf". On the trails and climbs, where hikers are usually out and about at a leisurely pace, the weekend of 6/7 September will literally be a blast. Exceptional performances and spectacular scenes are guaranteed.

Premiere for the "MOUNTOPOLIS VERTICAL "Brand new in the Zillertal Alps and in the Mayrhofen Ultraks route portfolio is the "MOUNTOPOLIS VERTICAL". A must for all mountain running enthusiasts! At 8.5 km and 1,250 metres in altitude, the route is short and crisp from the centre of Mayrhofen up to the Penkenbahn mountain station. At the finish line, runners can expect a great atmosphere in the new "Ultraks FanZone powered by Mountopolis" with DJ music, moderation and well-deserved finisher refreshments.

For the youngest participants, the popular "SPAREFROH-MINIULTRAKS" will take place again this year on Friday. Here, children have the opportunity to let off steam on an exciting course in the town centre and show off their sporting skills.

Directly afterwards, the spectacular and challenging "Z101" starts at 6 pm on Friday night. Over a distance of 107 km and 8,500 metres in altitude, even the most experienced trail runners will be pushed to their limits and beyond.

Unlike the other routes of the Mayrhofen Ultraks, the " TUX070 " does not start directly in Mayrhofen, but at the car park of the Hintertux glacier lifts. You will need a headlamp for the first few kilometres to master the uphill to the Frauenwand. Afterwards, participants are rewarded with fantastic views and a unique sunrise.

The "MUZ30" over 30 km and 2000 m elevation gain will once again represent the final of the "Golden Trail National Series powered by Salomon" on Saturday. This year, numerous elite athletes from Germany and Switzerland will once again be at the start and ensure an exciting and fast race.

The other disciplines such as the "RK50" with a distance of 50 km and 3,200 metres in altitude, the "MUZ14 " with 14.5 km and 900 metres in altitude and the "SPRINT " distance with a length of 7 km and 350 metres in altitude also offer an incomparable running experience.

Unique atmosphere in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday regionThe new start and finish area will be located in the centre of Mayrhofen for the first time and will be set up along the main road near the market town of Mayrhofen. The event area will also have a new location at Josef-Riedl-Platz. Both new locations will create a unique atmosphere for experiencing the trail running event up close and cheering on the participants.

The event traditionally takes place in September and comprises several race formats covering different distances and levels of difficulty. From short but intense runs to extreme ultra trails, there is something for every trail runner. A special highlight is the new "MOUNTOPOLIS VERTICAL", which requires both physical and mental strength with its 8.5 kilometres and 1,250 metres of elevation gain.

In addition to the main races, there are also special competitions for children, such as the "SPAREFROH-MINIULTRAKS", which gives the youngest participants the opportunity to gain their first experience of trail running and discover their enthusiasm for the sport.
