Window on the complex present: 3rd Innsbruck Journalism Festival3-5May 2024 | InnsbruckA place for encounters, debate and cultural exchange - that's the Innsbruck Journalism Festival. Journalists from different regions of Europe will have their say with their specific expertise. They discuss current issues with academics, NGO representatives and other experts. At book launches and readings, reporters talk about their experiences and provide insights into their work. Exhibitions with photo reportages, comics, documentary films and audio features round off the third edition. Contemporary art: 6th INNSBRUCK INTERNATIONAL Biennial of the Arts3-26May 2024 | InnsbruckExtraordinary historical and contemporary venues throughout Innsbruck will be filled with visual art, film and sound works, performances and installations at INNSBRUCK INTERNATIONAL. For the sixth time, the biennial invites national and international artists to the Tyrolean capital, who this year present and perform works on survival strategies, border areas and natural spaces under the title HEAVEN CAN WAIT. Sinfully good entertainment: 42nd Tiroler Volksschauspiele6. July - 17 August 2024 | Telfs "There's more to come" is the motto of the second season of the Tiroler Volksschauspiele under the artistic direction of Gregor Bloéb. The successful production "7 Deadly Sins", which premiered at Telfer Birkenberg last year, will be revived in 2024. New to the programme of the 42nd festival edition: Heinrich von Kleist's comedy "The Broken Jug". The timeless classic will celebrate its premiere on 1 August 2024 at Eduard-Wallnöfer-Platz in Telfs, directed by Anna Bergmann. Clear the ring: 5th Krapoldi Festival23. August - 1 September 2024 | InnsbruckThe international festival for new circus, clown performance and street theatre is setting up camp in Innsbruck for the fifth time. The centrepiece of the Krapoldi festival site is the circus tents in the middle of Rapoldi Park. But Innsbruck's old town and the market square will also be full of colour during these late summer days: street art festivals and spectacular performances, productions never before seen in Austria and tried and tested classics will amaze the audience. Areal treat: 6th Klassik am Berg8. September 2024 | Axamer LizumWhen classical music resounds from the mountains in late summer, it's time for the unique concert experience of the Tyrolean Chamber Orchestra InnStrumenti: Klassik am Berg. This year, the picturesque mountain world of the Axamer Lizum provides the perfect backdrop for the sixth edition. Reaching the "concert hall" comfortably by train, listeners can enjoy a varied programme presented under the direction and moderation of Gerhard Sammer. This time, the enchanting ladies of the Ladin ensemble 'Ganes' and the young trombonist Jakob Ettlinger have been invited to perform as soloists. further information at www.innstrumenti.at
