At the KAT100 by UTMB in PillerseeTal, trail runners of all levels lace up their running shoes from 1 to 3 August and run through and across the Kitzbühel Alps.
Over 100 miles, at night or completely relaxed - from 1 to 3 August, sports enthusiasts of all levels lace up their running shoes in PillerseeTal and run across and over the Kitzbühel Alps in 5 distances.
At sunset over rocky passages, at dusk over flowing valley trails, on grassy mountain trails through the darkness and at sunrise with a view of the next mountain peak: That's the KAT100 by UTMB.
The flagship event, the "100 Miles" distance, starts in Fieberbrunn, in the heart of the PillerseeTal valley, and takes participants 173.2 kilometres and 9,929 metres in altitude over panoramic high-altitude trails and rocky passages through the Kitzbühel Alps. In addition to Austria's longest ultra trail, there are also four other - equally beautiful and challenging - distances for all trail running enthusiasts: The Endurance Trail (81.4 km), this year for the first time starting in Kitzbühel and finishing in Fieberbrunn, is the perfect challenge for night owls with its midnight start. The Marathon Trail (48.2 km) and the Speed Trail (24.2 km) lead right through the surrounding mountains of Fieberbrunn and up to the Wildseeloder, one of the highlights of the KAT100 by UTMB. Beginners can get their first taste of trail running on the Easy Trail (8 km) and running enthusiasts can also put their stamina to the test on the Kids Trail.
The PillerseeTal is a real trail running paradise with its numerous running and trail running routes and impressive scenery. With the KAT100, the region has succeeded in entering the premier class, as the event has been part of the UTMB World Series since 2023. This means that running stones can also be collected in PillerseeTal for the big UTMB final.
