The KitzAlpBike Festival may be a thing of the past, but bikers' hearts are still beating faster in Brixental Valley! The long-standing HillClimb in Brixen im Thale is taking on a new format and becoming an event for everyone. At the same time, the Bike & Fly Festival is being established in Westendorf, offering spectacular adventures in the valley as well as in the air.
The mountain sprint, originally planned for Wednesday, will take place for the first time on Saturday, 22 June, with the aim of creating an unforgettable experience for every biker. Participants can expect exciting classes, including the professional class for experienced bikers and the innovative backpack class, which allows freedom in the choice of vehicle - from mountain bike to gravel bike to e-bike or even with a child trailer. This variety and the focus on fun make the HillClimb a unique experience. The HillClimb promises not only top sporting performances, but also an entertaining and varied event for the entire cycling community.
The start is in the early afternoon. A bike workshop in co-operation with the local bike shop Gschwantler is available to all participants. Children and young people will also have the opportunity to take part in an exclusive technique training session with mountain bike athlete Fabian Dankl, who will provide valuable tips.
There will also be technique stations for young people and adults to improve their biking skills. The highlight of the evening is the live performance by "Yellow Brick Road".
It continues in the same vein, as an exciting highlight awaits all biking and flying enthusiasts in Westendorf for the first time: the Bike and Fly Festival, organised by FlyTirol and Morgensonne Sport und Musik. From 9 to 11 August 2024, the backdrop at the Alpenrosenbahn valley station will become a meeting point for adventure seekers and recreational athletes.
The festival offers a varied programme that promises a perfect mix of biking and flying experiences. Visitors can look forward to fascinating ARCO air shows, an interactive test festival with various providers, exciting tandem flights, parcours training especially for children and young people, bike & hike tours on the Brechhorn, impressive bike shows and many other activities.
Visitors can expect not only action-packed activities, but also a varied selection of musical entertainment, as well as regional food and drink. A special highlight takes place on Sunday: The Frühshoppen with the "Hinterlechnern" promises cosy hours to round off the festival in a convivial atmosphere.
