Erfolgreicher Saisonabschluss von „Reutte on Ice“ und Lumagica Reutte

Updated on 26/02/2024

Last Sunday, 25 February, the first successful season of "Reutte on Ice", the largest ice skating rink in western Austria, and the second edition of Lumagica Reutte, the magical park of lights at Ehrenberg Castle, came to an end with a spectacular finale. The "Ice Closing Party" marked the end of an extraordinary winter period in the Reutte Nature Park region.

Thomas Ruepp, CEO of the Reutte Nature Park Region Tourism Association, summarised the season in moving words: "We can look back on an extremely successful first season. Thanks to the excellent cooperation of all those involved, we were able to provide thousands of visitors with unforgettable moments. The unprecedented response to Reutte on Ice and Lumagica Reutte confirms that our concept of combining winter sports and cultural events has struck a chord with the times," said a delighted Thomas Ruepp. In his acceptance speech, he also emphasised: "Without the tireless support of our sponsors, partners and the entire team, we would not have been able to create this impressive winter world. My thanks go to every single person who has contributed to the success of this major project."

In the first season, a total of around 30,000 day visitors came to the ice rink, including over 4,265 schoolchildren who were able to enjoy the skating fun as part of the free admission programme for schools and kindergartens. In addition, 1,750 season tickets were sold - a figure that significantly exceeded the organisers' original expectations. Over 9,000 pairs of skates were also rented out during the season - proof of the great popularity of the facility. The figures certainly prove that Reutte on Ice is not only an enrichment for the Reutte Nature Park region, but also a magnet for visitors from home and abroad.

Highlights of the season included the opening ceremony with DJ Ötzi, the Kasalla concert, a visit from St Nicholas at Nikolo on Ice, the "Bike 'n' Ice" show event, the guest performance by the Innsbruck Sharks and the "Carnival on Ice" with a visit from the Ice Queen Elsa. The children's carnival and the Maschger get-together made children's eyes light up and created an exuberant atmosphere.

Ronald Petrini, Managing Director of the Reutte Nature Park Region Tourism Association, added: "The positive response and the impressive visitor numbers confirm that "Reutte on Ice" and Lumagica Reutte are valuable assets for our region and beyond. We are already looking forward to the next season and to further improving and expanding our offerings."

The closing event itself offered musical fireworks with performances by "Red Hot And Roll", "Mama & the Gang" and "BÄÄM & Brass" to celebrate the successful season. Culinary delights and the magical atmosphere in the Untermarkt park area made for an all-round successful event.

Looking to the future, the Reutte Nature Park Region Tourism Association has already announced the next season of "Reutte on Ice" and Lumagica Reutte, which will begin on 15 November 2024. Further information and details on the upcoming events can be found at www.reutte.com
