Celebrating regional customs, focusing on local products, presenting handicrafts and entertaining with traditional music - this and much more is what the Zillertal Farmers' & Music Autumn, which will once again take place in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region from 22 September to 13 October 2023, has in store. Special highlights in the extensive festival programme are a traditional procession on 30.09. and surprise concerts by popular Zillertal folk music groups on 30.09. and 07.10. in Mayrhofen. Free admission.
The golden autumn symbolises the time of harvest, thanksgiving and celebration - as generations of farmers have already exemplified. These values are also honoured by the "Zillertaler Bauern- & Musikherbst", which puts tradition, enjoyment and diversity at the centre of its series of events.
An important part of the programme is the farmers' market, which takes place on six dates, from 22 September to 13 October, and transforms the centre of Mayrhofen into a large and diverse marketplace. Here visitors can discover a wealth of seasonal products and fresh Zillertal specialities, such as the delicious "Melchermuas".
In addition, exquisite handicrafts made from natural materials await and demonstrations by local artists invite you to look over their shoulders as they work. While leisurely strolling and exploring the local attractions, a casual chat, in Zillertal "Huagacht", with the stand operators is not to be missed.
It's not just farming that is deeply rooted in the Zillertal - music is also closely interwoven with the valley. This bond is reflected by a wealth of well-known and equally popular music groups that have made the Zillertal known far beyond its borders. The "Zillertaler Bauern- und Musikherbst" presents making music, singing and dancing together. On the market days, local music groups entertain with their songs on various squares and show their musical skills - without amplifiers.
The highlight of the festival programme is the traditional procession, which takes place on Saturday, 30 September, along the main street of Mayrhofen and is organised together with local associations. A live concert with a popular folk music group at the music pavilion rounds off the colourful programme.
On Saturday, 7 October , visitors can also look forward to rousing live concerts. In addition to the varied farmer's market, which features numerous delicacies, this time two music groups will be providing atmosphere and entertainment.
The Genusspass invites you to visit the local innkeepers or to shop at the farmers' market. Every purchase is rewarded with points. If you collect 5 points or more, you are entitled to take part in the raffle. In addition to many attractive material prizes, a stay in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region also beckons. The Genusspässe are available at the inns and at the offices of the Mayrhofen-Hippach Tourist Association.
The programme of the "Zillertaler Bauern- & Musikherbst" promises to be an unforgettable experience for providers and visitors alike. According to the motto: Diverse, enjoyable, rich in tradition.
