WMTRC 2023 Innsbruck-Stubai: Große Reichweite und viel Emotion

Updated 06.07.2023

One month after the start of the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships 2023 Innsbruck-Stubai - 06 to 10 June - World Championships organiser Alexander Pittl takes stock. In addition, the official highlight video of the World Championships, which summarises the highlights of the major event in Tyrol, will be presented.

"Even one month after the WMTRC 2023, which took place with about 1,300 athletes from 68 countries and more than 50,000 spectators, we still have the beautiful and emotional pictures of the event in our minds," says World Championships organiser Alexander Pittl.

On a total of four race days, the world's elite in mountain running and trail running competed on four courses - Vertical, Trail Short, Trail Long and Mountain Classic - for the coveted World Championship titles. Sports enthusiasts who could not make it to the courses were able to follow the exciting races via livestream. "We are proud that due to the international breadth of the starting field, the broadcasts took place in six different languages - German, English, Spanish, Italian, French and Chinese - and a total reach in the double-digit millions was achieved," adds Pittl.

Pittl continues: "Roast Media's experts for video and film have sifted through several hundred hours of material in the past weeks and filtered out the most beautiful, exciting and emotional scenes. These were packed into a highlight video and represent what the WMTRC 2023 were in the end: an event that really went 'bang'!"

"Once again, our thanks go to everyone who made this sporting highlight possible. Institutional supporters, the Tirol Tourist Board, Innsbruck Tourism, the Stubai Tirol Tourist Board, sponsors such as Volkswagen R, La Sportiva, Salomon and others have ensured that the WMTRC 2023 will only be remembered in a positive light. The official video is meant to be a tribute to running and the event and to show how beautiful and uplifting it is to pursue sports in nature," says Pittl.
