From the WinterWoodstock of brass music to traditional Christmas markets and breathtaking laser shows on New Year's Eve - Brixental Valley celebrates the cold season to the full. The Christmas markets are the prelude to a varied winter programme that puts visitors in a festive mood.
Christmas markets in Brixental Valley
On Saturday, 9 December 2023, Westendorf's clubs, merchants and stall holders are organising this year's Christmas market at the bandstand. From 3.00 pm to 8.30 pm, visitors can enjoy a variety of delicacies, mulled wine and punch. Christmas music will also provide a cosy atmosphere. The market also offers the opportunity to discover one or two small gifts for your loved ones.
On Sunday, 10 December 2023, a Christmas market will be held in Kirchberg in Tirol from 13:00 to 18:30. Christmas delicacies, atmospheric music, school performances, a children's programme, carriage rides and a cosy Hoagascht are on the agenda.
On Sunday, 17 December 2023, Brixen im Thale will host an "Advent with a Sense - Market", where you can enjoy a cosy Advent get-together and get in the mood for the Christmas season in a peaceful and atmospheric atmosphere. Food and drink will be provided, with punch, mulled wine and other delicacies on offer. There will also be free carriage rides for children and a children's programme.
Winter opening on the Alte Mittel
On 16 December 2023 , the Alte Mittel in Westendorf invites you to the annual Winter Opening. From 11.00 am, guests can look forward to a varied programme with live performances by the local band "Brixit" and the well-known group "Matakustix". A selection of food and drinks will also be on offer. We recommend travelling to the hut either on skis or comfortably by taxi, as the conventional access road is closed.
Laser shows in Brixental Valley
In Brixen im Thale, the festivities begin on 30 December 2023 at 19:00 on the Brixnerwirtsfeld. The laser show for kids starts at 7.30 pm and promises fascinating moments for the youngest visitors. Later, at 9.30 pm, party enthusiasts can look forward to a breathtaking laser show with a rousing DJ. Drinks will be served on site.
In Westendorf, two exciting laser shows will take place at the practice meadow on 31 December 2023. There will be a supporting programme from the local ski schools at 5.00 pm and the first show for families will start at 5.30 pm, followed by another at 9.30 pm.
In Kirchberg , the show will start at 5.00 pm on 1 January 2024 at the Skiwiese and a DJ will provide the right atmosphere. The first laser show of the evening awaits families and younger guests at 5.30 pm. The local ski schools will also present a programme between the two shows. The second laser show will follow at 8.30 pm. Catering will be provided by the Kirchberg clubs.
Winter Woodstock of brass music
Soon it will be time again for brass music on the rocks! The "Woodstock of Brass Music" is coming to Brixental Valley for the third time in 2024 with the winter edition, bringing a festival feeling and brass music atmosphere. At the Winter Woodstock of Brass Music from 22 to 24 March 2024, the three towns of Brixen, Kirchberg and Westendorf will resound with brass music. The finest brass music fare will once again be served up at various locations in the mountains and valleys. in 2024, music will also be played in the valley during the day for the first time - on the village stage in Kirchberg.
