The Parkhotel in Matrei am Brenner is the first hotel in the Wipptal to be awarded the eco-label and the EU Ecolabel. The family business is managed by Florian Obojes and was successfully certified in May 2023.
Florian Obojes is proud of the award and explains his motivation for sustainable tourism as follows: "We carry the eco-label because we have a responsibility towards employees, guests and partners. The conscious use of our resources, the economical handling of energy and the appreciation of regionality, seasonality and sustainability should ensure the quality of life and an intact environment for the next generation."
The Parkhotel is located opposite the railway station Matrei am Brenner, so it is ideal for a public journey. Another plus point: the S-Bahn from Innsbruck to Matrei runs every 30 minutes, the journey time is only 15 minutes.
Parkhotel guests who choose to travel by public transport also receive a 10% discount on the price of the overnight stay and can enjoy even more benefits: Since 2019, the Wipptal Tourism Association has been offering its guests the use of all public transport, i.e. all regional buses to the five mountain valleys as well as the S-Bahn (suburban railway) between Innsbruck and Brenner with the guest card as a ticket.
