Dear students,
we are all aware of the high rent prices in Innsbruck. Every student in Innsbruck knows how difficult it is to find suitable living space, whether it's a room in a shared flat or a flat. NEUE HEIMAT TIROL (NHT) is therefore implementing a pilot project that focuses on affordable student housing. In the course of this, the ÖH Innsbruck was granted the exclusive right of proposal for the allocation of shared rooms exclusively to students of the Leopold-Franzens University Innsbruck. The 38 residential units with 96 rooms will be built in the Pradler Saggen, in a green, quiet environment and yet centrally located, with great walking, cycling and public transport connections. The completion of the residential complex is already making great strides, so that all tenants will be able to move in by 22 September 2023.
What do the flats look like? There are both 2-bed and 3-bed shared flats. All residents have their own room. Each flat-sharing community shares a common kitchen, bathroom/WC and an entrance hall. In the 3-bed flatshares, the bathroom and WC are partly separate. All rooms are modernly furnished (first-time occupancy!) and attractively designed. As a special highlight, each flat has its own balcony with a unique view!(https://www.neueheimat.tirol/fileadmin/panorama/studentisches_wohnen/).
Where is the apartment complex located? The apartment complex is located at Kärntnerstraße 48 in the Pradler Saggen district, in the immediate vicinity of the Sill. The tram lines 2 and 5 as well as the bus line R with stops in the immediate vicinity and the direct connection to the Inn cycle path make it easy to reach the university locations or the city centre.
Where can I find information about the project and the accommodation units? You can find information about the project here: https://www.oehweb.at/wohnungsvergabe/
What does student housing cost? The usable living space of the individual flats ranges between approx. 51 and 71m² and the individual rooms between 10 and 16m². The rent varies depending on the size of the room and averages an incredible 380€ (gross, warm, incl. household electricity)!Included in the rent are the management costs, including household electricity, the furnishing of the rooms, the anteroom and the wet rooms, the equipped kitchen and the spacious balcony areas. These include the gym, relaxation lounge, roof terrace, library, breakfast area, bicycle storage..
How does the allocation process work? In a first step, you have to apply for a WG room on the https://www.oehweb.at/wohnungsvergabe/für. The deadline for submitting your application for a shared room is 27.06.2023.When the 250th application is received, but no later than 07.07.2023, the application form will automatically close and the allocation process will begin. The allocation of shared rooms is NOT done according to the "first come, first serve" principle, but according to an internal catalogue of criteria that takes various aspects into account. So it's best to get your documents together right away and submit your application on 26 June!
Who can apply? All students of the LFU Innsbruck with active studies can apply for a place in the student housing complex.
Which documents do I need?- Identity document (identity card or passport)- Current registration confirmation of your main place of residence- Confirmation of studies- Employment contract (if you are currently employed)- If necessary, further documents have to be enclosed or can be requested
Where can I apply? Applications can only be submitted via the ÖH Innsbruck website(https://www.oehweb.at/wohnungsvergabe/). Applications by e-mail or other channels can unfortunately not be considered.
Is an application binding? After the application deadline, all applications will be reviewed. According to an internal criteria catalogue, points will be assigned to the applicants. The applicants with the highest number of points will then be contacted promptly with an offer of accommodation. A legally binding tenancy agreement with the NHT only comes into effect once the offer has been accepted and both parties have signed the tenancy agreement. You can also refuse the offer of student accommodation if you decide otherwise.
