New Year's Eve and New Year in the Hohe Salve region

New Year's Eve and New Year is not just an occasion to celebrate, but also a time for people to come together and welcome in the New Year.

The turn of the year in the Hohe Salve region promises a variety of event highlights. The New Year's Eve celebrations begin on 30 December with the traditional end-of-year party in Kirchbichl. For those who want to experience a very special New Year's Eve celebration in the mountains, there is the Mountain New Year's Eve in Hopfgarten on 31 December or the end of the year in the Mariastein pilgrimage church. On the first day of the new year, Hopfgarten and Itter are the meeting place for young and old!

Kirchbichl end-of-year party30.12.2023 | 19:00 in the car park in KirchbichlTheKirchbichl end-of-year party, which takes place every year on 30 December, promises a warm and traditional atmosphere. A cosy get-together is possible in the heated multi-storey car park while live music and delicious food and drinks ensure a good mood. At 22:00, visitors can enjoy a wonderful firework display that lights up the night sky over Kirchbichl.

Bergsilvester Hopfgarten31.12.2023 | from 19:00 at the Tenner Stadl and the Salvenalm in HopfgartenTheBergsilvester in Hopfgarten promises a very special end to the year. Enjoy a breathtaking firework display by taking the Hopfgarten mountain railway directly to the middle station. Your hosts at the Tennerstadl and the Salvenalm will give you a warm welcome and spoil you with hot drinks and food. The Hopfgarten cable car runs from 19:00 to 02:00 so that you can enjoy the fireworks in a relaxed atmosphere.

End of the year Mariastein 31.12.2023 | 21:00 in the castle courtyard of the Mariastein pilgrimage churchAt theend of the year, the pilgrimage church shines in festive splendour. The atmospheric evening begins with a contemplative New Year's Eve service in the pilgrims' courtyard, led by Deacon Stefan Mair. This is followed by a torchlight walk around the castle. The fireworks start at 22:00 and the evening can end in a cosy atmosphere with a mulled wine or punch.

New Year's market in Hopfgarten01.01.2024 | from 15:00 in Hopfgartner MarktOn New Year's Day, visitors can expect a varied programme with culinary delights, street artists and a programme for children in the middle of Hopfgartner Markt. The New Year's mass in the church offers a unique atmosphere while the bands Yellow Brick Road, Hand auf's Herz and finally Audioheadz provide an exuberant atmosphere outside from 15:00.

New Year's magic in Itter 01.01.2024 | 19:00 at Dorplatz ItterAfterthe New Year's mass, torches are handed out to visitors to walk together to the Schusterhof in Itter and celebrate the New Year 2024 in a dreamlike winter atmosphere. The Itter music band and the Schusterhof team will welcome guests with music and delicious mulled wine or punch.
