Sechs Tage Topsport – Mit dem Rennrad von Dortmund ins Brixental

Updated on 08.09.2023

1.000 kilometres and over 10,000 metres in altitude - the participants of the DeutschlandRUSH have reached Brixental Valley after six tough days in the saddle. The starting signal for this unique challenge for racing cyclists was given on 2 September at Signal Iduna Park, the stadium of BVB Dortmund. The long-standing partner of the Brixental Valley region hosted the almost 30 athletes from Germany and Austria for the third time.

"The Brixental Valley stands for active holidays and is the ideal destination for all cyclists", said Max Salcher from TVB Kitzbüheler Alpen - Brixental (Head of BVB Cooperation) "We are all the more pleased that we can set the stage for such an exciting event as the DeutschlandRUSH together with our partner BVB Dortmund ".

This year, the route of the DeutschlandRUSH took the participants from Dortmund via Bad Laasphe, Udenhain, Bad Windsheim and Bad Gögging to Bad Feilnbach - before Austria's steepest cycling mountain, the Kitzbüheler Horn, awaited the athletes as the final executioner on the sixth stage. At the end of the six-day tour, the DeutschlandRUSH finally crossed the finish line at the legendary farmers' market in Westendorf - now a real tradition.

"Hats off to everyone who mastered this week," said RUSH organiser Hans-Peter Kreidl. "From day one, we all grew as a group, mastered ups and downs together and experienced the most beautiful road bike routes across Germany to Tyrol in Brixental Valley."

The DeutschlandRUSH 2024 will start again in Dortmund at the beginning of September. The exact date, all pictures, films and stories about the RUSH can currently be found at www.the-rush.eu.
