Skiing in spring? Nothing unusual in the Stubaital in Tyrol. Perfectly groomed slopes, an incomparable panorama and regional delicacies await all winter sports fans there even at this time of year. On the Stubai Glacier and in the Schlick 2000, holidaymakers can enjoy the first warm days in the snow until Easter and even in May, and fill up on vitamin D. The ski areas of the Elfer and Serles lifts are always worth a visit until March. Thanks to numerous offers and events, nothing stands in the way of sunny descents at the end of the season.
While many are already immersed in summer holiday planning, the Stubaital is going into overtime: spring skiing is just around the corner. Only about twenty minutes away from Innsbruck, the Stubai Glacier and the Schlick 2000 ski area have a lot to offer for all those who just can't get enough: varied slopes, the first warm temperatures paired with soft snow and regional delicacies to be enjoyed with a view of the mountains. At over 3,000 metres, the Stubai Glacier scores with the best conditions for skiing and snowboarding in spring - for beginners, advanced and professionals. Numerous slopes, the Powder Department as well as the Snowpark Stubai Zoo and plenty of space for everyone ensure that everyone gets their money's worth.
Just like the Stubai Glacier, the Schlick 2000 ski area with its diverse pistes and rustic huts is exactly the right address for all sun skiers. The Elfer and Serles lifts are open until the middle/end of March, depending on snow conditions. A little tip: Children up to the age of ten (in the Schlick 2000 up to the age of eight) ski for free when accompanied by a paying parent.
Numerous offers round off the perfect fun in the snow until May. Those planning a short stay in the Stubaital should not miss the Stubai Glacier Magic. The offer, which includes two to seven nights as well as the glacier ski pass and the free ski bus in the Stubaital, is still valid until 6 May. In addition to 26 modern cable cars and lifts, slopes of all levels of difficulty and a varied gastronomy, a ski rental and many other extras ensure an unforgettable stay.
From 5 to 24 March, from 16 April to 5 May and from 7 to 19 May, holidaymakers arriving on Monday or Sunday receive a four-day ski pass for the price of three days.
The Schlick 2000 ski area also has a lot to offer with the "Piste Fun" and "Firn Ski Hit" offers. Until April, young and old can still make their turns in the largest skiing area of the Stubaital and enjoy many advantages.
Guests with the SKI plus CITY Pass Stubai Innsbruck can look forward to an almost all-round carefree package. This not only offers the opportunity to get to know thirteen ski areas, but also includes 22 lifestyle, cultural and sightseeing offers in and around Innsbruck, free admission to the indoor swimming pools and a 25% discount on night rides on the participating mountain railways.
On Sunday, 12 March, there will be a hot culinary event at the Ski & BBQ in the Schlick 2000 ski area. Michael Hoffmann, multiple German barbecue champion and 2013 barbecue world champion, and his team from "GutGlut" will provide an unforgettable experience at over 2,000 metres at the Kreuzjoch panorama restaurant. Skiing, live music and first-class food - what more could you want?
The Stubaital not only impresses with its varied offer for all winter sports enthusiasts, but also with its proximity to the Tyrolean capital Innsbruck. Thanks to the easy accessibility, e.g. with the ÖBB offer "In the Nightjet to the snow" as well as the free arrival and departure for all Stubai overnight guests from Innsbruck to the valley and back, the holiday already starts during the journey. With a valid ski pass, public transport within the valley can also be used free of charge.
