A successful project of Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn celebrates its anniversary: "Timoks Wilde Welt" turns 15. To mark the anniversary, the family and leisure park is now being expanded to include "Timok's Explorer Checker Trail". As with other attractions in "Timok's Wild World", the trail is intended to provide children with a scientific connection to nature through play. The project is supported by the Tyrolean Provincial Museums as well as by the Federal Government, the Province and the European Union.
Since the park was founded in 2008, Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn has continuously expanded the offer at the Streuböden middle station in Fieberbrunn. in 2010, for example, the Alpine Coaster was born, in 2018 the Streuböden reservoir, including a panoramic trail, was built, and in 2019 the water features were installed. Since 2017, the Tyrolean provincial museums have also been on board and, with their scientific input, create incentives to inspire young and old for fauna and flora in a playful way.
in 2023, on the occasion of the anniversary, there will be something new in cooperation with the Tyrolean Provincial Museums: the play and educational trail " Timoks Entdecker-Checker-Pfad". On the path, which runs between the middle station and the Wildalpgatterl mountain inn, you can discover oversized animal and plant species at six different stations. Here you can marvel, discover, play and climb at will. Educational information and questions await at each station, which can be answered in the new children's riddle pass. Those who have cracked all the riddles and found the right solution receive a small reward at the mountain railway ticket office. The scientific input for the project again comes from the Tyrolean Provincial Museums: "Over the years, our cooperation has also resulted in the positioning of Timok as a researcher, scientist & discoverer and this is to be further expanded and deepened in the future," explains Sebastian Schwaiger, Managing Director of Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn.
Museum goes Wild", which was developed together with the Tyrolean Provincial Museums in 2017 and was previously stationed at Lärchfilzkogel towards Wildalmen, also has a new location in 2023. It will now fascinate children and adults alike in Timok's Wild World around the Streuböden reservoir and impart knowledge about the local flora, fauna and geology with the specially developed app.
And the figures also show that the concept of "Timok's Wild World" is working. Since its inception 15 years ago, the family and leisure park has seen the summer rides of the mountain railways increase fourfold. The park attracts around 100,000 guests a year, thus revitalising the summer operations of the mountain railways and the tourist offer in the PillerseeTal: "Summer is becoming increasingly important for the mountain railways and the experience staging on the mountain is essential to build up a successful year-round operation," says Schwaiger.
Not least for this reason, Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn is also a member of the "Best Austrian Summer Cable Cars". The quality seal has already guaranteed a high-quality summer offer on the mountain for years. For certification, each cable car operation must fulfil a comprehensive catalogue of quality criteria and assign itself to a special experience repertoire. The quality seal can only be awarded by the Austrian Cable Car Association and is subject to ongoing quality controls. The offer in Fieberbrunn was awarded the specialisation "Family-Berg".
Families with children receive discounts when purchasing tickets in Fieberbrunn. If parents buy a single ticket, the first child (born 2008 - 2017) pays the full children's rate, the second child receives a 50% reduction and all other children travel free. Season & Annual Pass Family Bonus: Large families, if ALPIN CARDs are purchased for the two oldest children/youngsters (born 2005 or later), receive the same ALPIN CARDs free of charge for all other children/youngsters (born 2005 or later) in the family.
