On 1 May 2023, the new regional and hiking bus will start in the Wildschönau between the main villages of Niederau, Oberau and Auffach. Schönangeralm and Thierbach are also connected.
The Wildschönau is looking forward to the new and more frequent busservice between Niederau, Oberau and Auffach. Within the framework of the agreement with the Verkehrsverbund Tirol (VVT), a year-round mobility service will be offered at hourly intervals, including weekends and public holidays. Guests can use the bus line within the Wildschönau as part of the Gästecard at no extra charge. Local residents can take advantage of a better timetable.
For the popular hiking destinations Schönangeralm and Thierbach, a separate hiking bus is implemented with thelocal bus operator WVB Bartl Stadler in summer. This bus will run for the first time this year from 27 May - 15 October 2023, so that hikers who, for example, hike along the new Wildschönauer Höhenweg from Markbachjoch over the Feldalphorn to Schönangeralm can return to the starting point. Hikers from the Schatzberg to Thierbach can now also return to the valley without any problems .
The Wildschönau Tourist Association is investing heavily in the expansion of the mobility offer. What has been well established for many years in winter with the ski bus is now also to be used in summer. Chairman Christoph Brugger and Managing Director Michael Mairhofer are convinced that the new bus service will be well received by guests. The new transport arrangement with the VVT will also expand the bus service for commuters and thus strengthen public transport in the Wildschönau.
