Before the start of the 2022/23 season, the Winter.Wunder.Welt in Nauders expanded its offer for children. Investments were made in a covered conveyor belt. Half of the construction costs of around 240,000 euros were covered by the province of Tyrol, the rest was shared by the municipality of Nauders and the project sponsor TVB Tiroler Oberland. Children have already been transported more than 120,000 times this winter on the new 39-metre-long magic carpet. Mario Gerber, Provincial Councillor for Tourism and Economic Affairs, draws a first positive balance.
Tourism and Economy Provincial Councillor Mario Gerber is aware of the importance of this offer and summarises: "It is a personal concern of mine to enable children to have fun in the snow and to support such important projects. That is why I am particularly pleased that the covered conveyor belt in the Winter.Wunder.Welt Nauders could be realised thanks to the support of the Province of Tyrol."
For several years now, the Winter.Wunder.Welt - an adventure park for children - has been located in the centre of Nauders am Reschenpass on an area of 16,000 square metres of snow. The varied offer includes a large natural ice rink for ice skating, curling, an ice hockey field as well as tobogganing and tubbing rinks. With the newly built and covered conveyor belt, the Winter.Wunder.Welt expands its offer and thus created an alternative for carefree exercise in the snow. This gives the little ones the opportunity to try out a wide variety of snow sports.
Land Tirol promotes outdoor park for children
The TVB Tiroler Oberland, as project sponsor and operator of the Winter.Wunder.Welt, realised an outdoor park together with the municipality of Nauders in order to enable children in particular to enjoy exercise in the snow and in the fresh air. Together with the province of Tyrol, the municipality of Nauders and the TVB Tiroler Oberland, it was possible to expand the offer with a covered and 39-metre-long conveyor belt with the start of the 2022/23 season. The construction costs amounted to around 240,000 euros. Gerber: "This offer, which is unique throughout Tyrol, shows what is possible through excellent cooperation. I would like to personally thank all those involved, first and foremost Helmut Spöttl, mayor of Nauders, Dr. Armin Falkner (chairman), Helmut Wolf (board) and Manuel Baldauf (managing director) from the TVB Tiroler Oberland, for the implementation."
