Crazy about snow? That means clear mountain air, the sparkle of white peaks and the anticipation of winter in Tyrol. If you are crazy about snow, you want to feel the crunch of the white splendour under your ski boots, make gentle turns on freshly groomed slopes and experience freedom at over 3,000 metres. And that's even when you're still thinking wistfully of summer in the valley. This is no problem on Tyrol's highest peaks, because snow-crazy people know exactly: on the 5 Tyrolean glaciers, thanks to the Snow Card Tyrol, the longing turns into a desire for snow as early as 1 October! Skiing pleasure, fun on the slopes and your very own personal winter happiness await you here just as they do in the total of over 90 ski areas throughout Tyrol. This variety is amazing!
If the Tyrolean winter is a promise, the 5 Tyrolean glaciers are the guarantee that it will be kept. Kaunertal, Pitztal, Hintertux, Stubai, Sölden: The first kilometres of piste of the winter can be collected there as early as October. 75 cable cars and lifts take winter sports enthusiasts to lofty heights. Wide carving turns on over 300 kilometres of perfect pistes or gentle tracks in untouched deep snow slopes awaken that very special feeling of happiness that can only be found up here at over 3,000 metres. Far away from everyday life, you can experience special highlights on each of the 5 Tyrolean glaciers.
Speaking of highlights: The highest point of the Tyrolean glacier ski areas is in Pitztal. The mountain station of the modern Wildspitzbahn is at 3,440 metres. Just as high as the highest coffee house in Tyrol, where you can enjoy the sensational view of over 50 three-thousand-metre peaks. Go deep instead of high in the unique ice world on the Hintertux glacier. Here, a day of skiing on slopes and fun slopes is crowned by a tour through the impressive Nature Ice Palace. Those looking for action and variety will find it in Sölden. Here, race tracks and fun parks provide the perfect mix of adrenaline, speed and a feeling of freedom. Things that James Bond also appreciates. If you want to immerse yourself in the world of the secret agent and get into the scenes of "Spectre", which were filmed around Sölden, the "Elements 007" is the right place for you. The Kaunertal Glacier offers no action film scenery, but an incomparable natural backdrop. Past the Gepatsch reservoir, the glacier road leads up to 2,750 metres. From here, families can enjoy numerous blue slopes, freestyle fans can shred through one of the longest snow parks in Europe and the adrenaline kick can be found on the "Black Ibex", the steepest slope in Austria! What everyone is happy about: little hustle and bustle and a view of three countries. The largest glacier ski area can be found on the Stubai Glacier: While the best freestylers in the world regularly meet in the "Stubai Zoo" snow park, future mini-shredders let off steam in the family-friendly ski area. The snow carousel, children's restaurant and 35 slopes ensure that you won't want to go down again. And if you do, then take the valley run, which leads down ten kilometres and a good 1,500 metres in altitude.
