The 2nd World Mountain Running and Trail Running Championships were a complete success! However, the four days of competition and supporting programme would not have been possible without the tireless work of the organisation team in the run-up to the event and the support of volunteers from all over the world. To illustrate the scale of this mega event, we have summarised the most important figures. Only the enthusiasm of the spectators is difficult to express in numbers. But measured in terms of volume and waving flags, it was huge. A home World Championships in Innsbruck-Stubai is something special.
68 nations sent athletes to the WMTRC in Innsbruck-Stubai.
1.300 athletes competed at the 2nd Combined World Championships.
400 volunteers made the organisation of these World Championships possible in the first place. 100 of them came from all over the world.
34 hours of live streaming were broadcast by the WMTRC - in German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Chinese. With spectacular drone images and camera runners who conveyed the sport up close, plus interviews and course graphics.
300 flags. The routes in Innsbruck-Stubai have been marked with purple flags on trees and bushes. The 13-strong team led by course manager Simon von Hubatius used a total of 300.
70 sprays: Where possible, arrows on the ground showed the way. 350 cans of biodegradable chalk spray were used for this purpose.
350 signs made from recyclable material were erected along the routes and World Championship venues in Neustift and Innsbruck
6.000 litres of drinks were provided for the runners along the World Championship courses during the competitions.
200 kilograms of bananas and 250 kilograms of apples ensured that the athletes always had enough energy.
11.000 portions were served to the athletes by the 50-strong catering team.
