No ordinary bike park - the BIKE REPUPLIC SÖLDEN (BRS) is a nation for everyone! From 8 to 11 June, the BRS kicked off the season with the BIKE OPENING. The 2023 season offers a new area suitable for beginners at the SCHTIRGGAR LINE. BIKE REPUPLIC SÖLDEN is also expanding its national territory with a line in Germany and will have a bad-weather alternative directly in Ötztal with the AREA 47 indoor bike park.
Founded in 2015, BIKE REPUPLIC SÖLDEN is considered the most individualised bike project in the Alps - everything here revolves around fairness, respect and community. Instead of guests, there are citizens, instead of ego trips, the motto is ONE FOR ALL. Regardless of origin, age and skills, all bike fans feel welcome, at home and in the flow at the BIKE REPUPLIC SÖLDEN. A huge network of 18 natural trails, 12 ecologically built shaped lines, 13 enduro trails, 214 km of MTB tours and two pump tracks in the valley form a magnificent biking playground with varying degrees of difficulty - embedded in the magnificent backdrop of the Ötztal Alps and the infectious biking passion of the locals.
The BIKE OPENING of the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN took place on the weekend of 8 to 11 June. A total of 5,900 first-time entrants and 25,000 rides were counted over the weekend, with around 2,000 first-time entrants and 8,500 rides on Saturday alone. This means that 75% of the 8,000 people in the area at the weekend were bikers. The programme highlights included the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN Rally, the Bike Expo with free bike tests, fun stands, free riding technique courses and the MTB Freestyle Show by X-Sports Show.
New beginners' terrain in the town centreEverybeginning is hard? Not necessarily, says the BIKE REPUPLIC SÖLDEN, and is constantly expanding its infrastructure for beginners. A new "Skill Centre" will open at the SCHTIRGGAR LINE at the start of the 2023 season. Covering an area of around 400 m², the centre offers opportunities for curve training, a drop battery for first jumps and a flat practice area to hone your braking and cornering technique. The freely accessible set-up is perfect for growing into the sport of biking step by step. Ready for the terrain? The free centre shuttle takes you comfortably to the start of the green SCHTIRGGAR LINE beginners' trail. This takes even inexperienced bikers back to the centre via long rollers and easy steep bends - a sense of achievement guaranteed! The practice area is also equipped with a bike wash station, bike stands and seating.
Own "embassy" in German bike park & indoor bike park in ÖtztalFrom2023, the BIKE REPUPLIC SÖLDEN will be cooperating with the Green Hill Bike Park near Dortmund, which only opened last year. As a result, a trail in the middle of the Ruhr region will bear the title BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN in future! The BRS also operates its own naturalisation office directly in the Green Hill Bikepark, where bikers can register as BRS citizens and receive the coveted BRS passport. In addition to the exclave in Germany, the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN is also getting "reinforcements" at home: Austria's first and only indoor bike park will open its doors at the AREA 47 leisure park at the entrance to Ötztal at the end of April 2023. Means non-stop biking from now on. In the evening, in rainy weather, in winter. The perfect addition to the ultimate outdoor experience on Sölden's trails. The BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN is adding two trail visas (1 x Green Hill Bikepark, 1 x AREA 47 Indoor Bikepark) to this year's passport. Depending on your ambition, you can collect valuable goodies with the full pass: for 6, 12, 18, 29 trail visas collected, you get real must-haves for enduro riders & freeriders. The final mega-goodie powered by POC is available for the maximum of 31 stamps.
Training camps for prosIn addition tobiking as a popular sport, the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN also promotes the very best. As a prospective home base for professional athletes, it is organising special training camps for professional bikers this summer - either individually or in teams. This allows the athletes to optimally prepare for further competitions between the various Downhill World Cups. With the technically extremely challenging OLM VOLLE LINE, double black category, BRS provides an exclusive training course for experienced riders. This is on top of the BRS's already varied range of routes, which are ideal for bike sessions of all kinds.
Events to make a note of are the Summer Eventday on 15 July including a public photoshoot, pop-up bar, outdoor cinema & bunny hell contest as well as the Bike Republic National Day on 29 September and 1 October. On the same weekend, the Enduro Tirol Tour, a race series with tour stops in the best MTB regions of Tyrol, will make a guest appearance at the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN.
