History at your fingertips: The museum opens with an exciting programme and a new exhibition after the winter break.
Kramsach - From 2 April, visitors to Tyrol's largest open-air museum can once again embark on an exciting journey into the past. The museum starts the season on Palm Sunday with a very varied programme. Every Sunday, craftsmen demonstrate their skills. Visitors can, for example, watch how the finest leather is embroidered with quills, how whipping cakes are baked or learn first-hand about the blacksmith's craft. Popular events such as the Day of Folk Music on 2 July or the Church Day at the end of September will take place again.
Time travel through the Middle Ages
New this year are the "Day of Stories" on 15 April and a theme day on the culinary art of the Middle Ages on 25 June. On both days, living history groups will provide hands-on history. Visitors to the museum travel through time - from the Middle Ages to modern times - and experience storytellers, musicians and showmen at various stations. On the second theme day, visitors will learn a lot about the culinary art of the Middle Ages. The group "Vrouwen Maere" sends visitors on a journey into the culinary world of the Middle Ages - cooking takes place in the historic kitchens of the courtyards.
Linguistic diversity in Trentino
A special highlight promises to be the new exhibition "As en Bersntol", which will be presented in cooperation with the Tyrolean Regional Museum from 1 May. It highlights the history of a multilingual valley in Trentino, where an extraordinary linguistic diversity is lived. During a sentence, inhabitants of the valley sometimes switch back and forth between Italian, Trento dialect, German and "Bersntolerisch". "Senza koa Schwierigkeit", they like to say. The exhibition presents the stories of the inhabitants in pictures, texts and videos.
A musical start to autumn
In autumn, at the first "Day of the Choirs" on 15 October, choirs from the Tyrolean lowlands will sing at various places in the museum grounds. The Museum of Tyrolean Farms is again open daily until 31 October. Information and details about the events are available at: www.museum-tb.at.
