With electric tailwind into the climbing route: Climbing enthusiasts can now comfortably reach higher multi-pitch routes, sport climbing routes and via ferratas in many regions of Tyrol by e-bike - away from the mainstream. All information is available free of charge at Climbers Paradise.
Climbers Paradise, the largest online climbing portal in Tyrol, offers thousands of routes in 14 regions, free print-quality topos and up-to-date information on climbing and via ferrata. Now Climbers Paradise also offers free route descriptions for combined e-bike and climbing tours. In recent years, the e-bike has established itself as a popular access vehicle for climbers and makes it possible to comfortably reach higher-altitude tours that have been spared from the mainstream due to their altitude and are particularly suitable for an excursion on hot summer days.
The variety of tours, framed by the impressive Tyrolean mountain scenery, stretches from St. Anton am Arlberg over the Mieminger chain to the Kitzbühel Alps. All tours are approved for mountain bikes and the detailed descriptions, GPS tracks and topos can be found on the Climbers Paradise website. Scrolling through, it quickly becomes clear: Tyrol has much more to offer than the well-known and much-visited fashionable tours close to the valley.
Those who want to travel to Tyrol by public transport or without an e-bike can easily rent an e-bike in the respective valley towns.
The joint initiative of the Karwendel Nature Park, Climbers Paradise Tyrol and SAAC (snow & alpine awareness camps) is entering its second round. After a successful launch in autumn 2022, the recommendations developed are now available to all climbers with the aim of leaving as few traces as possible on the rock and in the surroundings.
Sport climbing is booming: indoor climbing, but also bouldering and rock climbing are increasing strongly in some regions. This always brings unpleasant side effects (e.g. litter, overcrowded car parks or disturbance of breeding grounds). This is basically contrary to a sport as close to nature as climbing is. In order to draw more attention to easily avoidable grievances, the initiators have compiled joint recommendations and tips. The topics range from environmentally friendly travel and observance of local rules to respectful treatment of other athletes and interest groups and, of course, above all, of nature. The guidelines can be found here.
Climbing with Respect Action Day: Climbing and Nature Conservation in the EhnbachklammInthe framework of the initiative, a joint action day will take place in the Ehnbachklamm in Zirl on 21 October 2023 in cooperation with the Innsbruck Nature Film Festival. How can we be more respectful and aware of nature when climbing? How can we continue to practise our sport outdoors while understanding all the facets of nature around us? During this one-day event, SAAC mountain guides will demonstrate on the rock what is important in terms of safety. At the same time, nature park rangers explain more about the flora and fauna in the Ehnbachklamm gorge. In addition, litter is collected together and disposed of professionally to improve the landscape. Interested climbers can register here free of charge.
Tyrol is much more than just the land of unlimited alpine climbing opportunities. A multitude of via ferratas, family-friendly climbing gardens, bouldering areas, ice climbing spots, climbing parks, high ropes courses and climbing g yms inspire climbing in the heart of the Alps all year round. A climbing holiday in Tyrol is always a holiday that combines nature and culture: wonderful hosts serve up delicacies, emerald-green mountain lakes invite you to take a dip and anyone who comes to Tyrol experiences a country whose majestic mountains immediately enchant you. Because it touches the soul, makes countless activities possible and because it is reflected in the people who live here and welcome those seeking relaxation. See you at the rock!
