Borussia Dortmund's U23 team has arrived in Tyrol and is preparing intensively for the upcoming season. The Brixen Valley with its three towns of Brixen im Thale, Kirchberg in Tirol and Westendorf offers an ideal training environment for the young team.
Under the direction of coach Jan Zimmermann, the 19-man team can expect a demanding training programme aimed at forming a strong unit that can attack in the 3rd League. In addition to eight intensive training sessions, the programme also includes a test match that will challenge the players.
The team travelled to Brixental with nine new arrivals, including the talented striker Julian Hettwer, who recently moved to BVB from Duisburg. While Hettwer is still training individually, all the other players are participating fully in training. The training focuses on various aspects such as procedures, tactics, standards and automatisms. Coach Jan Zimmermann is always present to correct positions and convey ideas for play.
BVB fans who are on holiday in the Brixen Valley as well as locals are cordially invited as onlookers at the SV Brixen im Thale facility . Training sessions will take place on Monday at 10.00 am, Tuesday at 10.30 am and 4.00 pm, Wednesday at 10.30 am and on Thursday and Friday both at 10.30 am. In addition, the U23s will play a test match against the Belgian second division team SK Lommel on Thursday, which will take place at 6 pm at the SAK Stadium in Salzburg.
In addition to the intensive training, the players will also have time to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Kitzbühel Alps. The bathing lake in Brixen im Thale offers a welcome change and a chance to relax after the sessions.
