Sustainable and high-quality gondola lift for the Schlick 2000: The Schlick 2000 Ski and Hiking Centre is replacing the Galtalm T-bar lift from 1961, with a modern and comfortable 10-seater gondola lift from the LEITNER company.
"This week, the first construction measures for the new 10-seater gondola lift began on schedule," says a delighted Ing. Martin Pittl, Chairman of the Board of Schlick 2000. In the coming months, the innovative and sustainable gondola lift will be built, which will offer guests a great deal of quality, comfort and safety.
"The core of this major project includes the extension of the cable car from the valley station slightly below the Fronebenalm to the mountain station above the Galtalm at 1,760 m," explains Lukas Pittl, Managing Director of Schlick 2000.
The constructive cooperation with the affected landowners and the authorities favoured a quick approval phase and thus a start of construction this year. It is planned to start operations in the course of the coming winter season, and a possible summer operation is also being considered.
The new Galtberg lift will lead to a significant improvement in quality and comfort and will make life easier for ski schools and beginners in particular. Furthermore, it promises ride comfort at its best: 23 spacious XLine deep cabins with premium floor seats, powerful speed of up to 6 m/s with a ride time of around 4 minutes, transport capacity of 1,400 people per hour, which can be increased to a maximum of 2,000 people per hour.
The ropeway is equipped with the gearless and almost noiseless, environmentally friendly direct drive developed by LEITNER. This results in energy savings of up to nine percent and the elimination of all gear oils.
Another advantage for the new gondola lift is the elimination of the long, steep towing track and its costly preparation. It also ensures safer transport for children and less experienced winter sports enthusiasts.
The investment volume for the new construction amounts to about 11 million euros.
