Attractive Easter programme in Kitzbühel

Updated on 16.03.2023

16.03.2023 / Living tradition at Easter: Every year at Easter, Kitzbühel and the towns of Reith, Aurach and Jochberg work together to create new ideas and realise them with great commitment.

Tradition unites - this year, too, the decorative realisation is a joint project of Kitzbühel Tourismus, the town of Kitzbühel and the communities of Aurach, Reith and Jochberg, the local farmers and numerous Kitzbühel institutions.

Whether it's the Jubiläumsgartl, town gates, town centre, fountains, churches or the town park - in 2023, locals and guests alike will be welcomed with atmospheric Easter decorations and a varied programme. After all, customs and traditions are of particular importance in the Kitzbühel region.

Easter eventsFrom31 March up to and including 16 April 2023, all signs point to Easter in the region in terms of events. There is plenty for young and old to discover. On the opening weekend on Saturday, 1 April 2023, the Kitzbühel Easter market will not only offer Easter ham and Easter pastries, but also a baking workshop for palm pretzels and other Easter pastries. In the afternoon, the popular Easter market takes place in Jochberg. In the evening, the Lungau Big Band jazz orchestra celebrates its 40th birthday with soul, funk and pop at the Landesmusikschule.

For Kitzbühel Tourismus Managing Director Dr Viktoria Veider-Walser, activation at Easter is very important: "With the aim of making our four towns attractive all year round, it is particularly important for us to enhance the region, especially in the so-called off-peak periods. With a varied Easter programme and extended opening hours for Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel, we hope to provide a good basis for extended opening hours for our member businesses."

Experience Easter customsEasteris steeped in history and stands for traditions and delicious recipes that should never be forgotten. This year's Kitzbühel Easter programme includes highlights for the whole family, such as tying palm bushes, dyeing Easter eggs with natural dyes, making Easter candles and baking traditional Easter biscuits, as well as interesting traditional festivals and themed hikes to regional pilgrimage sites.

Easter shop window competitionAspart of this year's town centre revitalisation, Kitzbühel businesses are once again invited to decorate their window displays. Due to the extremely positive response from previous years, Kitzbühel Tourismus is particularly pleased to be organising the big Easter window display competition again in 2023.
