The Koasamarsch on 17 June 2023, organised by the Ebbs Winter Sports Club, will once again offer three different trail running and four hiking distances. The start and finish of all competitions is the event centre of the new secondary school in the centre of Ebbs, where refreshments and snacks will also be provided. "The challenging routes of the three trails fall under the motto 'zach owa geil' and lead the runners through the Kaiser Mountains nature reserve," says Georg Ritzer, President of WSV Ebbs, providing an insight into the distances: "The KOASA Marathon is the supreme discipline with 44 km and 2,100 metres in altitude, followed by the KOASA Classic Run with 33 km and 1,730 metres in altitude and the KOASA Hell Ride, which is 20 km long and leads over 1,000 metres in altitude." On the various hiking routes, you have the opportunity to achieve a rating for the International Volkssportabzeichen. The IVV-Fit hikes range in length from 5 km to 40 km, so that there really is something for everyone.

On almost all routes, the majority of the metres in altitude are covered in the first five kilometres. The only exception here is the KOASA marathon, which takes a loop over the Aschinger Alm before the trail takes its steep course towards Stripsenkopf (1807m). Another thing that almost all the routes have in common is the way back through the beautiful Kaisertal valley. Only the two valley routes do not pass through it. They lead along the edge of the forest at the foot of the Zahmer Kaiser through fields and hamlets, partly on gravel and forest tracks.

This year's Koasamarsch will once again take place in the Kaiser Mountains nature reserve, a true Eldorado for mountain enthusiasts. "There is a simple reason why the Kaiser Mountains attract countless mountain sports enthusiasts every year," explains Georg Hörhager, Chairman of TVB Kufstein: "Anyone who enjoys climbing, walking or running metres in altitude in order to inhale and store up impressive views like an elixir of life at the finish is in exactly the right place here." The "KOASA", as the mountain range is called by locals, offers hiking and mountain routes as well as trails of all lengths and levels of difficulty to suit different requirements and inspires with its natural beauty. It is not without reason that the Kaisertal was named one of the most beautiful places in Austria, and the organisers, together with the organising committee and all participants, are already looking forward to this sporting event, which can now be described as a cult event. There are still a few weeks left to explore the trails in Kufsteinerland and prepare for the Koasamarsch. Further information and registration at www.koasamarsch.at
