Wilder Kaiser posters nature conservation

Updated 08.08.2022

Anyone driving on the main road through Going, Ellmau, Scheffau and Söll has already seen the calls for a responsible approach to nature

Who hasn't? Finally you're going on a mountain tour instead of going to work, and the joy of being in nature is enormous. With every metre covered, the head becomes clearer, the problems of everyday life are left behind step by step in the valley. Finally the Jausenplatzl is reached, the hunger for the well-deserved refreshment is great - but suddenly it doesn't taste good any more. Because there is rubbish all around the bench. Whether banana peel, handkerchief or even cans - none of it has anything to do with the mountain! Everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - that you take with you up the mountain or into nature must also be taken back (to the valley).

Or: You dragged yourself out of bed at 4 a.m. to be the first or rather the first to reach the summit, you made it up just in time for sunrise, put on your dry clothes and sit down to enjoy the first rays of sunshine all by yourself - but then you realise that you are probably not the only one up here... Because although the hiking group is still at least 200 metres above you, you can already hear their conversations, laughs and shouts. So much for the peace and quiet - and not just for us humans, but even more importantly: also for the animals whose habitat is nature. So if you have a lot to talk about, please do it as quietly as possible, deer, chamois and co. are really not interested in our conversations.

Posters in the region

And because these - and other nature conservation issues - are taken very seriously in the Wilder Kaiser, they are currently posted in large format on the region's bus stops. The messages range from being quiet to keeping your distance, from taking rubbish with you to using the public transport system to get there. If you haven't seen the posters yet, you should keep your eyes open between Söll and Going on the Loferer Bundesstraße, because you can't miss them. The aim is to once again raise awareness among both guests and those who live in the region of how valuable our nature and our living space are. Only if #we together pay attention to it and protect it, will we and many generations after us still enjoy it.
