On 30 July 2022, the annual meeting of the cycling elite on the steepest cycling mountain in Austria - the Kitzbüheler Horn - will take place once again: the International Horn Cycle Race.
Challenge Kitzbüheler Horn
When the cyclists - from amateurs to professionals - start pedalling hard again to climb Austria's steepest bike mountain, the time has come again for the International Horn Bike Race. This year, the cycling event takes place for the 42nd time. On a newly paved road, the 7.2-kilometre route with 865 metres of altitude difference goes up from the Höglern power pole to the Alpenhaus Kitzbüheler Horn. Thus, the course has an average gradient of 22.3 percent. The individual time trial starts at 10:00 a.m. at Strommasten Höglern. The start numbers will be handed out at the valley station of the Hornbahn Kitzbühel. Enthusiastic spectators along the route are welcome and invited to experience the cycling spectacle live and cheer on the summit contenders.
Registrations for the cycling classic are already open and can be made until Wednesday, 27 July 2022.
Whether as spectators or participants, excitement and drama are guaranteed at the unforgettable moment of conquering the Kitzbüheler Horn.
TIP | The 33rd International Mountain Bike Race on the Hahnenkamm awaits just two weeks after the Horn Bike Race.
