The country finalists have now been decided for the show "9 Places - 9 Treasures" on 26 October in the main evening of ORF 2 (8.15pm).
With very positive news for the outdoor region of Imst, because this year Lake Fernstein will enter the race in the 9th edition of the ORF TV show as the representative for Tyrol when it comes to choosing the most beautiful places in Austria.
On the bank holidays, the audience decides by voting in the popular viewer programme, in which hidden places and true natural gems are presented. Armin Assinger and Barbara Karlich will once again be the hosts of this year's programme. The state finalists are each promoted by a celebrity and a "Bundesland heute" presenter.
The Fernsteinsee is a special place for all those seeking recreation in the Nassereith municipal area in the outdoor region of Imst. Rich in stories and legends that entwine around the former Sigmundsburg hunting lodge and Fernstein Castle. And a real treasure for all those who love pure, crystal-clear water: Divers who prefer cool, refreshing water, hikers who enjoy the many colour facets of the small lake, or holidaymakers who cycle a pleasure tour around the dreamy Fernsteinsee. "We are very proud that the Fernsteinsee in Nassereith has been nominated as the most beautiful place and treasure in Austria. And rightly so, as it tends to be underestimated," says Bernd Kiechl, Managing Director Imst Tourismus, BA MA.
