On Wednesday, 07 December 2022, the general meeting of the Tourism Association Nature Park Region Reutte took place in the Arena of the Ehrenberg Castle World. In addition to the general agenda items, the election of the new supervisory board, the board of directors and the chairman was the determining topic of the evening.
Already two hours before the official start of the general assembly, many members met to visit Lumagica Ehrenberg, the new winter highlight of the region, together. Afterwards, chairman Hermann Ruepp welcomed all those present to the general assembly in the Arena Ehrenberg. The following items on the agenda included reports on current projects, figures, events, cooperations and innovations in the past year.
For example, the construction cost subsidy of one million euros for the Alpentherme Ehrenberg, as well as the loan for the participation in Bergwelt Hahnenkamm, could be paid off in the meantime. In 2022, an increase of more than 43% in guest arrivals and even more than 45% in overnight stays was achieved compared to the previous year. Although the figures are not quite at the pre-crisis level, they are already approaching it.
With the elimination of many corona-related restrictions, it was even possible to hold numerous events again last year. In addition to the Tyrolean Lech Tour, the Family Cycling Day and all the mountain autumn events, the openings of the Lech Cycle Path and the new Josef Dreier Bridge were celebrated with small ceremonies - the tenth anniversary of the Lech Path even with a full-day hiking excursion - in keeping with the occasion. For this purpose, Ehrenberg has been transformed into a magical park of lights by Lumagica since 25 November.
Afterwards, a video clip was presented that was both visually stunning and spectacular, offering a comprehensive insight into the milestones of the tourism association since the turn of the millennium. The arc of tension was perfectly stretched over the past two decades: From the prevented demolition of the Klause and the first restoration work on the castle ruins to the knights' games and the opening of the highline179. The rescue of Bergwelt Hahnenkamm with the participation of the TVB as the largest shareholder, as well as the subsequent further development as a silent partner were also discussed. Part of the clip was also the development of the Lechweg, as well as current projects such as the Lechradweg, the cooperation project gravel.tirol and the Lichterpark Lumagica. An important milestone in recent years was the brand development process in 2016, the result of which was even awarded the European Design Award in Porto.
"Whether it was the Tyrolean Ball in Vienna, the brand presentation at the Chamber of Commerce or the three times we won the Touristica Award - these are formative and beautiful moments, and afterwards you can say: that was something that brought the region forward!", chairman Hermann Ruepp shows his satisfaction in the clip.
In accordance with the Tyrolean Tourism Act, the annual activity report of the chairman of the supervisory board, DI Armin Walch, and the results of the audit for 2021 were presented to the general assembly, resulting in the unanimous approval of the annual financial statements and the discharge of the board of directors and supervisory board by the general assembly.
Before the election of the new supervisory board, the main topic of the evening, Armin Walch, who has been responsible for the fate of the Reutte Nature Park Region Tourism Association in a leading role for 35 years and has thus played a decisive role in the development of the region, was duly honoured for his many years of voluntary work.
