In Tux-Finkenberg, traditions, music and customs are still held in high regard and celebrated especially at Christmas time. Due to its altitude, the high valley between Finkenberg and Hintertux is usually already covered with snow by the end of November. After an extensive walk in the white winter splendour, you look forward to the cosiness of the homely parlours and enjoy the pleasant smell of home-baked Christmas biscuits. To shorten the time leading up to Christmas, cosy, traditional but also contemplative events take place in Tux-Finkenberg.
All friends and lovers of the Tux Valley enjoy the 1st Sunday of Advent at the traditional "Tuxer Advent". The pre-Christmas festival takes place on Sunday, 27 November 2022 from 2.30 pm around the village square of Tux-Lanersbach. The "Tuxer Advent" opens the reflective season and invites you to a cosy get-together under Christmas decorated stalls with mulled wine, punch, traditional delicacies and Zillertal doughnuts. As ideal Christmas gifts, farm products from Tux and much more are on offer at the advent farmers' market. At the Tux municipal office there will be a carving exhibition with Manuel Oblasser from Brandberg and children can send their wishes to the Christ Child by letter.
After the Advent carol singing at 2.30 pm in the Tux parish church, the mayor Simon Grubauer officially opens the Tux Advent, framed by the Tux brass band. The group "Die Fetzig'n" will be singing Christmas carols from 4 p.m. onwards, before St. Nicholas arrives at the village square at 5.30 p.m. with his whole host of angels. From 6.30 p.m. it may get uncomfortable for some when the Krampusse parade through the village.
