At the 10th Silvrettarun 3000 from 15 to 16 July 2022, 675 amateur and professional marathon runners took on a marathon course and three trail running distances, each ten kilometres shorter, from Ischgl to Galtür. The run raised 2,695 euros for the "Wings for Life" charity project. Save the date: The 11th Silvrettarun 3000 will take place from 14 to 15 July 2023.
Bright sunshine and an absolutely smooth course ensured a successful anniversary at the 10th Silvrettarun 3000 at the weekend: with almost 700 professional and amateur runners from 25 nations, the organisers were once again able to celebrate a successful event this year. "Ten years ago, our idea of combining two small races in Ischgl and Galtür into the Silvrettarun 3000 in order to offer participants not only a mountain marathon at almost 3,000 metres, but also magnificent views of the blue Silvretta with its 74 three-thousand-metre peaks, has more than paid off."At the anniversary run, runners could choose from a total of four varied trail running routes, each around ten kilometres apart, starting in Ischgl and finishing in Galtür. 147 fit runners competed in an exciting race through the impressive mountain landscape on the 40.195 kilometre marathon distance, where they had to conquer the almost 3,000 metre high Kronenjoch as well as 1,814 metres of altitude difference. The "Small" (11.2 kilometres and 306 metres in altitude), "Light" (19.36 kilometres and 873 metres in altitude) and "Medium" (29.9 kilometres and 1,482 metres in altitude) variants were also very well attended with 167 Medium, 123 Light and 145 Small participants, including Nordic Walkers. The total prize money totalled 14,000 euros.
Tomáš Hudec from the Czech Republic took the men's victory in the supreme discipline with a time of 3:25.29.4, while Tereza Kubickova, also from the Czech Republic, deserved her place on the podium in the women's marathon with a time of 4:19.46.7. On the medium distance through the imposing Fimba over the Ritzenjoch and through the natural Larein, Geoffrey Gikuni Ndungu from Kenya was the fastest with a time of 2:18.02.5; Adela Stranska from the Czech Republic won the women's race with a time of 2:46.08.2 On the Light course, Abraham Ebenyo Ekwam from Kenya was first in the men's race in 1:32.05.2 and Ine De Stoop from Belgium was first in the women's race in 2:12.42.2. Gold on the small course went to Geoffrey Githuku Chege from Kenya in 39.43.9 minutes. The fastest woman here was Anita Reinhardt from Germany in 58.21.0 minutes.Team and group resultsThisyear, ten teams of four, each with one participant per distance, took part in the Silvrettarun 3000. The fastest three teams were chosen after adding up all four times run. Team Sonne 2 won the day and gold with a time of 8:23.43.5, silver went to Team Running4 with 8:52.43.5 and Team Sonne 1 took bronze with a time of 9:06.08.7.Strong young runnersFor theseventh Silvretta Kids Run presented by Volksbank Tirol on 15 July 2022, 93 participants aged between four and 15 took part in the "Mini" (450 metres), "Midi" (1,000 metres) and "Maxi" (2,000 metres) courses, depending on their age. All finishers were rewarded with a medal and a small gift.
Running for a good causeThe10th Silvrettarun 3000 raised 2,695 euros for a good cause. Five euros per participant from the entry fee went to the charity partner "Wings for Life". This supports promising research projects and clinical studies worldwide to cure patients with spinal cord injuries or paraplegia.
