Starten unter einem guten Radstern: beim 7. Imster Radmarathon 2023 am 14. Mai 2023

Updated 03.11.2022

After the event is before the event. Now is the time for cycling fans to make a note of the highlight of the season and take part in the 7th edition of the popular Imster Cycling Marathon.

The race starts on Sunday, 14 May 2023. The distances are also divided into the following course profiles in 2023: Route A with a scope of approx. 110 kilometres and 2,300 metres in altitude for ambitious bikers, Route B, where there are approx. 90 kilometres and 1,300 metres in altitude to master, and the Panorama Round with 70 kilometres, which leads over 700 metres in altitude through a grandiose mountain landscape.

The magic motto for all those who live and love cycling is: The winners of summer are made in winter. Even though you usually can't ride on the road in winter, there are plenty of ways to get fit for summer - and thus fulfil your wish to take part in the 7th Imster Cycling Marathon.

"Training on the roller, running, swimming or cross-country skiing will keep you in shape or you can build it up ahead of time," says Frank Rietzler, the long-time organiser of the Imst Cycling Marathon.

Get in the mood for the Imst Cycling Marathon at the Einradeln on Saturday, 13 May 2023 at 2 p.m., Imst Sports Centre.

For the second time, the kids will pedal to an elimination race around the outdoor climbing tower at the Imst Sports Centre. The Kids Bike Race starts on Saturday, 13 May 2023, at 4.00 pm.

In Imst it's about much more: a time-out that invites you to discover yourself. Already before the race, on Friday, 12 May 2023, an extraordinary relaxation or mental training is planned for the participants with the four-time climbing world champion Angela Eiter.

Angela Eiter from Imst is an Austrian sports climber. She is one of the world's best sport and competition climbers in the disciplines of lead and bouldering. She was the first woman ever to climb a route with a difficulty of 9b.

In addition, there will be the opportunity for everyone to use the brand-new Calasthentics Park, located right next to the climbing centre, for a street workout.

More details on all distances can be found here. Online registrations are already possible from now on. And those who would like to receive their starting documents already at their accommodation will benefit from the all-round carefree package that can be booked here.

Cycling in the Outdoor Region Imst is possible earlier in the season than in other regions of Tyrol: Due to the climatically favourable location - with the Lechtal Alps in the north and the Ötztal Alps in the south - the cycling season in the Outdoor Region Imst starts already at the beginning of April. The Imst Cycling Marathon opens the race calendar as one of the first cycling events in Tyrol.

Six years ago, the Imst Cycling Marathon was launched as a joint project of Imst Tourism and the organiser Frank Rietzler. The race has established itself as a permanent fixture in the racing calendar.
