The heart of the Ski-Arlberg region offers a total of more than 300 kilometres of marked downhill runs as well as 200 kilometres of off-piste variants. News and highlights in the ski area
Start of the winter season on 2 December 2022. As the calendar year draws to a close, a highlight for mountain sports fans is still to come: on 2 December, winter returns to the "global village" of St. Anton am Arlberg! The start of official lift operations at 8.45 in the morning heralds a particularly sporty ski season in the Tyrolean region. Throughout the opening weekend, visitors test new ski and board models from well-known manufacturers on the slopes of St. Anton am Arlberg free of charge.
New culinary heights. Kaiserschmarrn or bouillabaisse, cuisine at bonnet level or Tyrolean classics - the gastronomic offerings of St. Anton am Arlberg are as diverse as its ski resort. The renowned "Gault&Millau" regularly honours restaurants from the holiday region, which is home to a total of more than 90 different restaurants ranging from fine to casual as well as huts for cosy get-togethers. St. Anton am Arlberg will take the next steps in culinary delights for the 2022/23 winter season with the new construction of the restaurants in the Galzig mountain station, which will also include the popular Verwallstube.
New skiing experience thanks to V-Edge edge grinding. Numerous chapters in the history of winter sports have been written in St. Anton am Arlberg. In its function as a pioneer of alpine ski technology, the mountain village has yet another innovation in store for the industry since winter 2021/22. The Stanton Service Centre, the largest workshop of its kind in the world, relies on the revolutionary V-Edge technology from world market leader Wintersteiger for edge grinding. While the angle varies at the front and back of the ski, it remains constant in the binding area. The result: grippy edges and effortless turning on the mountain. Winter adventure in a pack. In cooperation with Wild Paws Adventures, guided husky tours in the Austrian region of St. Anton am Arlberg complement the offer for winter holidaymakers. On Monday and Friday mornings, holidaymakers with and without children accompany the strong character dogs on foot or on skids through the winter landscape of the Tyrolean mountain village.

Not for the inexperienced. The starting point of one of the most beautiful winter via ferratas in Tyrol is at the Riffelbahn II mountain station on the Rendl (2,645 metres) above St. Anton am Arlberg. From there, tour fans can climb the 850-metre-long, high-alpine ridge traverse, secured throughout by a wire rope. The view extends over the entire Verwall Group and the Lechtal Alps, and in good weather even as far as South Tyrol. Once you reach the Rossfallscharte (2,732 metres), skiers' hearts beat faster when the descent through the open terrain beckons. Arrival and service
New tool for planning your journey. By train directly to the village centre. St. Anton am Arlberg in Tyrol is an attractive destination for rail travellers from all over Europe. The mountain village is a Railjet station, with seven direct connections a day from Vienna and Zurich. The St. Anton am Arlberg Tourist Association operates the local train station as an additional service centre. In the entire holiday region, overnight guests can reach their destination without a car: a sophisticated bus system ensures maximum mobility to and from all parts of the village as well as surrounding regions in the Stanzertal valley. By the way: Those who live in St. Anton am Arlberg can reach everything on foot anyway due to the short distances.
