On 16 July, hikers will experience a true adventure during the "24-hour hike". Once around the clock, they embark on an extraordinary expedition through the mountain world of the Alpbach Valley.
Inneralpbach - Without sleep, the 24-hour hike leads directly into adventure over 42 kilometres and more than 3000 metres of altitude. Start and finish is at 9 am at the festival hut in Inneralpbach. The hike is done as a group with a maximum of 130 people accompanied by mountain and hiking guides as well as the Alpbach Mountain Rescue Service. There will be frequent breaks along the route. Food and supervision are included in the participation fee of 69 euros. The hike is a tough one, but it can be done with willpower and good basic fitness. The pace is leisurely and without hustle and bustle. Tired hikers can recharge their batteries during the numerous short breaks.
The route leads from Inneralpbach to the highest point of the tour - the Wiedersbergerhorn at 2,127 metres. Via the Loderstein and the Reither Kogel you then reach the Silberbergalm around midnight.
