Two outstanding MCI-related research projects can look forward to receiving the Eduard Wallnöfer Recognition Award 2022: the "Smart Inclusion" project by MCI Department of Management, Communication & IT staff member Magdalena Posch and the "PREDATOR" project by David Kampenhuber (ALPEX Technologies), which is scientifically supported by the MCI, won over the jury. In the presence of numerous guests of honour, including Deputy Governor Georg Dornauer, Provincial Councillor Cornelia Hagele, Provincial Councillor Mario Gerber and President of the Federation of Austrian Industries Tyrol Christoph Swarovski, Foundation Chairman Oswald Mayr presented the awards to the winners.
In cooperation with the Magdalena Posch has been working since March 2022 on the forward-looking research project "Smart Inclusion", the aim of which is to enable people with disabilities to live as independently as possible in accordance with their needs by means of innovative technology. Smart Glasses" are used, which simulate everyday situations with the help of "augmented reality" - the computer-based extension of reality - in order to train and strengthen the independence of the clients.
The "PREDATOR" project by David Kampenhuber, Head of Business Development at , enables energy-efficient and transparent production of fibre composites, setting new standards in the digitalisation of the manufacturing process in aviation. The project is supported by the Unternehmerische Hochschule® and the University of Innsbruck in research.
Eduard Wallnöfer Prize
Every year, the Eduard Wallnöfer Foundation awards the "Eduard Wallnöfer Prize for Research and Study Projects" as well as recognition prizes. The prize is awarded to those projects that are in the broadest sense in the interest of the province of Tyrol and contribute to its social, cultural or economic development.
