Updated 07.11.2022

Three days full programme, best skiing weather, great atmosphere and groovy rhythms: almost 8,000 skiing enthusiasts celebrated the start of the new ski season at the Pitztal Glacier Open last weekend.

Snowboarding and ski touring to freestyle and cross-country skiing, took centre stage at the start of the new season on the Pitztal Glacier. From Friday 28 October to Sunday 30 October 2022, a total of around 8,000 visitors to the Pitztal Glacier Open celebrated the start of the season, tested the latest equipment from leading sports brands K2, Fischer and Dynafit, improved their freestyle skills under the guidance of former ÖSV athlete Lisi Gram and refreshed their knowledge of avalanche awareness. One of the highlights was the ORF Radio Tirol concert by Chris Steger on the sun terrace of the Kristall glacier restaurant on Saturday. "After numerous ski stars prepared for this year's World Cup season on the Pitztal Glacier and trained intensively, we started the new ski season together with our ambitious and passionate guests at the Pitztal Glacier Open, and it couldn't have gone better," says Anna Grießer, Marketing Manager of the Pitztal Glacier, pleased with the successful start to the season. With a varied programme for young and old, skiing fun was guaranteed in bright sunshine.
