Christmas insider tip in the Wipptal for operetta and folk music lovers, craft lovers and those with a sweet tooth on 03 and 10 December 2022.
On 3 and 10 December 2022, the Tyrolean Operetta Advent in the Marktl of Matrei am Brenner really gets you in the mood for pre-Christmas.After a 2-year pandemic break, the village centre of Matrei is transformed for the 20th time on two Advent Saturdays into a scene of local crafts and local culinary delights. A visit to the Amort art smithy is obligatory; here you can warm yourself well by the fire of the forge and watch the blacksmith Georg Amort work the hot metal. But other local craftsmen also sell wonderful handmade products: Nativity figures, wood carvings, textile handicrafts, satchel embroidery, hand-knitted caps as well as gloves, artfully handcrafted jewellery and much more. There is also a lot to offer in the way of culinary delights: Delicacies from the farm stall, Hörtnagl's fine brandies, honey products from the region, doughnuts, kiachl with cabbage and, of course, the obligatory mulled wine also make the evening a feast for the palate.
In addition to smaller music ensembles in the Matrei inns and in the Marktl, an operetta ensemble from Salzburg will provide a contemplative Advent atmosphere in the Church of the Holy Spirit.
Programme:
18.00 am Children's reading in the Matrei registry office / town hall 1st floor
19.00 am Entrance of the angels and official opening in Marktl / Gasthof Lamm
19.30 am Operetta performance in the Holy Spirit Church Matrei
