Key measures include reducing traffic in the region and organising all events as "green events". For years, guests in the region have been able to use the free Regiobus and regional rail transport throughout the Kitzbühel Alps. From this year, PillerseeTal is also offering an attractive offer for those travelling by car.

Lots of advantages with a "car-free holiday"!

This summer, the PillerseeTal Tourism Association is launching a mobility campaign for car-free travel by train. In concrete terms, this means that guests can search for and book the right train connection directly on the tourism association's website. All guests arriving at the train stations of St. Johann in Tirol, Fieberbrunn, Pfaffenschwendt or Hochfilzen in late summer and autumn and who have booked their accommodation directly through the PillerseeTal tourism association can then book a free train station shuttle. This takes guests directly to their accommodation and picks them up again on the day of departure. The free regional bus is also available to guests who have opted for the "car-free holiday" so that they can easily explore the region in PillerseeTal. Guests who prefer travelling on 2 wheels can hire a bike from various bike shops in the region (for a fee). The tourism association also offers a low-cost e-car hire service. "With the free train station shuttle, we are now also closing the much-discussed "last mile" and with the great bike hire offer, the Regiobus and rail transport as well as the e-car hire, we are providing an additional incentive for environmentally friendly local mobility," says CEO Armin Kuen. This makes it easier for guests travelling by train to enjoy a holiday without a car.

When the train arrives, the personal shuttle to your holiday flat, guesthouse or hotel is already waiting: In the period between 10 September and 31 October 2022, guests can not only enjoy a free train station shuttle, but can also look forward to a free PillerseeTal Card. This means that guests travelling car-free to PillerseeTal, using the train station shuttle and booking accommodation directly through the tourist office can use mountain lifts and amusement parks in the region for free, among other things
