On the "Naturbühne Achensee", the tourist offer has been enriched by an exciting facet: As part of a region-wide project, an interactive radio play experience was implemented at 24 stations, which informs visitors in an entertaining way about the sights on Tyrol's largest lake.
In the new interactive radio play experience, the historical narrator Emperor Maximilian I takes visitors on an exciting journey through the Achensee region. At 24 stations, different audio files, texts and photos are available via GPS or by scanning a QR code, which convey information about the respective place in an entertaining way. In addition, interactive and playful elements such as puzzles or other tasks await visitors young and old at some of the radio play stations. Once the Achensee radio plays have been downloaded onto a mobile phone, the Locandy app can be used on site without an internet connection.
At the various interactive stations, the new interactive radio play combines the method of storytelling with gamification. The stories are told on the spot and the interactive elements draw the listener's attention to the special features of the surroundings. In this way, the analogue world is to remain in focus: "Here at Lake Achensee, we were once again able to implement a very coherent concept of radio play experiences with many expansion possibilities, which make the region and its advantages playful and humorous to experience," says Michael Ölhafen, CEO of the renowned Tyrolean company Locandy, which implements digital adventure tours. The Achensee audio play is available in German and English.
A total of 24 stations in the Achensee region are played through the Locandy application. These include, for example, the Karwendel valleys and the Fürstenhaus in Pertisau, the Dalfaz waterfall, the Achensee Atoll with play ship, the St. Notburga church, the Achensee railway or the Achensee navigation. Even at an altitude of 2,261 metres, you can listen to Emperor Maximilian's remarks: At the stone summit cross of the Seekarlspitze, a radio play adventure is also stored via GPS. "The 24 audio play adventures not only expand our diverse range of offers, they also bring guests and locals closer to the sights and excursion destinations of our region in a playful way. We at Achensee Tourism are thus continuing our consistent path of digitalisation," explains Martin Tschoner, Managing Director of Achensee Tourism.
It is no coincidence that Emperor Maximilian I is a virtual tour guide through the region in the new radio play. Emperor Maximilian I discovered the beauty of Lake Achensee for himself early on and pursued his two passions there, hunting and fishing. In Pertisau he had the Fürstenhaus built as a hostel for his visits. As the "first guest at Lake Achensee", he thus laid the foundation stone for tourism in the popular holiday region around Tyrol's largest lake.
