MCI und Universität Sevilla starten Double Master Degree Programm

Further strengthening of internationality at the Entrepreneurial School®: The linking of the MCI Master's programme Food Technology & Nutrition with the Master Food Technology & Industry of the University of Seville will soon form the joint Double Master Degree Programme on Food Technology, Industry and Nutrition. The recently agreed cooperation, which is made possible within the framework of the European university alliance Ulysseus, will in future offer students the opportunity to get to know the perspectives of both partners in the field of food technology and to make the best possible use of the opportunities it opens up.

This is also confirmed by Katrin Bach, Head of the Food Technology & Nutrition program at MCI: "The expansion and simultaneous strengthening of our content focus of our Master's programmes will create new study and work opportunities for all students. We are very happy that we were able to implement this development within the framework of the European University Ulysseus and the European idea."

Manuela Sebastiana Ruiz Dominguez, Programme Director of the Food Technology & Industry programme at the University of Seville, explains, "The double degree has attracted a lot of interest from our students and faculty. We see this as a great opportunity for further collaborative opportunities."

The programme comprises 5 semesters, with MCI students completing the first year of study in Innsbruck; semesters three and four are spent at USE. For USE students, the programme is designed in the opposite way: For them, the Master's programme first starts in Seville and is continued in the second year at the MCI. In the fifth semester, the Master's thesis is again written by all students in Innsbruck and the Master's examination is taken by representatives of both institutions.

The present joint Master's programme between the MCI and the University of Seville is one of the first double degree programmes to be developed by the Ulysseus partners in the coming years. Susanne Lichtmannegger, Head of International Relations at MCI, adds: "The implementation of a joint European university, as currently pursued by MCI within the Ulysseus consortium, will open up a variety of possible innovative study experiences for our students at all six participating universities. The double degree programme developed for Food Technology with the Universidad de Sevilla is a fine example of the enormous added value offered by European cooperation in higher education."

Special thanks from MCI go to Ana Maria Beltrán, Deputy Director of Internationalisation and Corporate Internships, and Manuela Sebastiana Ruiz Dominguez, Programme Director of the Food Technology & Industry programme at the Universidad de Sevilla, as well as all colleagues from both universities involved.
