Lechtal Nature Park Run

Updated 28.06.2022

The running event in the Tyrolean Lechtal | 8 October 2022

For the fifth time, the Lechtaler Naturparklauf will take place in the Austrian municipality of Elmen in the Tyrolean Lechtal. On 8 October 2022, local and foreign athletes will come together to compete in five different running disciplines. In addition to the established disciplines from previous years, such as the main run, Nordic walking, hobby run and children's and charity run, this time trail runners can also look forward to a challenging course: from now on, the adventure trail run will expand the portfolio of the Lechtal Nature Park Run.

Marcel Pelgrim, founder of the trail running and running school Rocks n' Roots Running-Lechtal in Vorderhornbach, provides the necessary support and expertise. For optimal preparation, the native German is organising a trail running camp from 6 to 8 October 2022, information on costs and programme at running@rocks-n-roots-lechtal.at. The Lechtal Nature Park Run stands for passion and togetherness in the active experience of nature in the original Tyrolean Lechtal. The proceeds of the children's and charity run even support families in need in the district of Reutte. The entry fees for the respective competitions start at five euros for the children's and charity run. In the evening, the South Tyrolean party band VOLXROCK will ensure a good atmosphere in the festival tent.

Running experiences for young and old

The various stages of the fifth Lechtal Nature Park Run will start and end directly above the wild river Lech at the Klimmbrücke Nature Park House in Elmen on 8 October 2022. The 22-kilometre adventure trail run for the particularly ambitious is new. Those who want to take it a little easier can tackle the ten-kilometre main run for advanced runners or the five-kilometre Nordic walking or hobby run. Younger sportsmen and sportswomen can try their hand at the one-kilometre children's and charity run, the entry fees of which are used to help families in need in the Austrian district of Reutte. All routes lead through the untouched nature of the Tyrolean Lech Valley with the wild river Lech as a constant companion.

NEW: Adventure Trail Run for beginners and experts

At the fifth Lechtal Nature Park Run 2022, athletes can look forward to a completely new discipline this year: the Adventure Trail Run with a total length of 22 kilometres. The new discipline is considered an official run of the Austrian ASTA Speed Trail Cup. But anyone who thinks that the course in the Tyrolean Lechtal can only be mastered by professionals is mistaken. While the loop is good and fast to run for experts, it is equally suitable for trail running beginners. The trail promises a colourful mix of hiking and forest paths as well as "flowing" single trail passages. The highlight along the way is the Stablalm/Elmen alpine inn at 1,412 metres. Marcel Pelgrim, founder of the trail running and running school "Rocks n' Roots Running-Lechtal" in Vorderhornbach, offers the perfect preparation for the running event with his trail running camp. For those interested, the licensed trail running guide and currently still active assistant referee of the German national football league has designed an extensive programme from 6 to 8 October 2022 - including guided tours on the competition course, technique training and joint talk rounds. www. rocks-n-roots-lechtal.at
