Galtür Nordic Night Race on 24 March 2022

The Galtür Nordic Volumes kick off with the Galtür Nordic Night Race, which is taking place for the third time. Anyone can take part and compete with the pros. The night-time individual race is designed as a cross-country sprint on the flat. After a 700 metre qualifying lap, the 16 fastest skiers in the men's and women's categories will go through to the finals. These will be held over two laps (around 1,400 metres in total) in a knockout format from 8 pm. The finalists will compete for the total prize money in groups of four, from which the two fastest will progress.

Children can also get their first taste of competition on 24 March: a separate children's race in the K7-K9 classes with a distance of 350 metres and K10-J16 with 700 metres will take place at 5.45 pm (qualification) and 6.35 pm (final). It's all about being there, because every little participant will receive a prize.

Premiere: cross-country skiing camp and ski test on 25 March 2022

Participants can also test the latest equipment from Fischer on site, complete a full-body workout during Fischer Skiletics training or compete in the laser biathlon. Children aged 8 to 14 can test their skills on an obstacle course and receive a small surprise. The cross-country camp in Galtür opens at 9 am.

On Sunday, 27 March 2022, the pupils born between 2008 and 2011 will open the new race course at 10 a.m. in a mass start with free technique. The aim here is to complete the 2.5-kilometre circuit with 51 metres of elevation gain between Wirl and Galtür as quickly as possible twice in a row. Starting fee: 7.50 euros per person.

One hour later, at 11 a.m., the adult runners will start the first Galtür XC Team Relay, which will also count towards the Austrian Club Championships, in women's and men's relay teams of three. Whether club or hobby runners, here too each relay runner has to complete the 2.5 kilometre course twice in a row using the free technique. The times of all three team members are added together and the fastest team wins. The entry fee is 10 euros per runner.
