White mountains and snow-covered slopes until May - On 30 April, Kings of Leon gave 11,000 winter sports enthusiasts a successful end to a special winter season with their incomparable guitar rock at the "Top of the Mountain Closing Concert".
The white end of the season on 30 April was celebrated in Ischgl by 11,000 winter sports enthusiasts with Kings of Leon at the "Top of the Mountain Closing Concert". The highly decorated US favourites rocked the Ischgl stage from 1 p.m. to hit classics such as "Use Somebody", "Closer", "Back Down South" and "Sex on Fire" in front of their enthusiastic audience at an altitude of 2,320 metres.
"With the "Top of the Mountain Closing Concert" in Ischgl, Kings of Leon crowned the end of a very challenging but ultimately satisfying winter season for us. After the completely cancelled ski season 20/21, we currently only recorded a minus of around 25 %, despite a 3-week delayed start to the season due to the pandemic," says Alexander von der Thannen, chairman of the Paznaun - Ischgl Tourism Association. "To be honest, at the beginning of the 21/22 season we feared a much bigger minus compared to the winter of 18/19. In any case, this winter has clearly shown that a great many guests have found their way back to Ischgl and that the pandemic with its restrictions has not diminished the desire for winter holidays in the snow and special experiences on the slopes," von der Thannen continues. "We are proud that we were able to offer our guests high-quality, but also safe skiing pleasure again this winter, despite the difficult conditions. Our new event series "Spring Blanc" was also well received by guests and shows that we can also score points with our guests in spring with very special skiing moments and a colourful programme full of culinary delights and music," emphasises Günther Zangerl, CEO of Silvrettaseilbahn AG.
After the end of the winter season there are exactly 6 weeks before the Paznaun mountain summer begins and Paznaun once again welcomes guests from all over the world. What awaits guests in summer? High-alpine mountain sports and nature experiences, great treats at the huts of the Culinary Route of St. James and the surrounding gastronomic establishments in Paznaun, relaxed family time as well as exciting participatory events such as the Silvrettarun 3000, the Ischgl Ironbike or the E-bike World Championships for everyone.
