Olympic cycling champion Anna Kiesenhofer secured the Austrian mountain state championship title in Alpbachtal on Sunday. The Lower Austrian won clearly ahead of Anna Plattner and Alina Reichert on the Reither Kogel over six kilometres and 560 metres of altitude
The state championship had a special meaning for Kiesenhofer this year, as she revealed in a recent interview: "This time the championship has quite a high value for me. I don't even know why. Sometimes you just suddenly have goals in your head. And I have this now: I want to have this jersey." Kiesenhofer completed the course in a time of 22:27 minutes.
