Last weekend, the conditions were almost perfect for the 505 participants of the 3Länder Enduro Race x Maciag Offroad: (Almost) no rain and pleasant temperatures formed the outer framework for two days of challenging enduro racing in Nauders and Reschen. After eight stages plus a prologue on Friday, two experienced Enduro riders won in the end: Ines Thoma, the EWS-experienced rider from the Allgäu, was unsurprisingly the best time in the women's category in 1:04:50.22. Felix Heine won the men's race in 55:57.01 min.
Felix Heine (RSG Olympiapark München/GER) did not only ride the absolute best time of the weekend, but also won the main class Solo Men ahead of Jens Steinsberger (SC Korb/GER), who needed 56:30.74 min. Third place went to Julian Claudi (Radon Bikes/Nonplus Components/GER) in 56:54.59 min.The main class Solo Women was won by Kathrin Stöhr (GER) in 1:10:44.72 min ahead of Nina Grill (Suspension Lab Racing/GER) in 1:13:46.35 min. Third place went to Nadine Sessinghaus (GER) who needed 1:14:39.51 min.The anniversary edition of the 3Länder Enduro Race x Maciag Offroad was a well-rounded event in several respects: After the attractive prologue at Nauders Castle on Friday, the participants were able to get into the groove for the eight stages of the weekend with crisp beats by DJ Chris White.
As in previous years, the stages were divided between the Austrian and South Tyrolean sides of the Reschenpass. "For the participants, the change means a high degree of variety and stages with different lengths and characters," emphasised the managing directors of the cross-border tourism association EWIV Nauders-Reschenpass, Manuel Baldauf and Gerald Burger. On Saturday, after the green trail on the Mutzkopf, the participants went over the bunker trail to the South Tyrolean side, and there, after three stages, back to the Mutzkopf. The fastest woman of the weekend, Ines Thoma, rode her time in a duo team with her team partner Kim Vorholzer. Both rode in the guest class Duo, in which the riders of the sponsors and partners of the 3Länder Enduro Race x Maciag Offroad compete. With 1:04:52.95 min the duo finished second here, behind the winners Anton Wünscher and Adrian Vesenbeckh (IBIS Fidlock Racing), who needed 58:35.00 min. Third place went to Robert Dalitz and Leo Kast (Maciag Offroad) in 1:13:23.52 min.The men's guest class was won by Florian Schmidt (easyframe Lackschutzfolie) in 1:01:03.83 min ahead of Kilian Brunnlechner (ethirteen) who needed 1:03:21.80 min. Third place went to the duo "IvelRide Racing" with Anna-Lena Nicolai and Markus Trost (1:14:41.96 min). "It was a great race with fantastic trails - I don't know why I've never competed at the Reschenpass before," said Nino Antic, runner-up in the Super Masters Men, summing up. Antic (Giant Germany Offroad Team/GER) finished second in this class with 59:25.58 min behind the "subscription winner" and team mate Wilfred van de Haterd (NED), who clocked 58:41.26 min. Third place went to Charlie Williams (Gravity Enduro World/Whyte Bikes/GB) in 1:04:49.90 min.
