The holiday region of Zell-Gerlos, Zillertal Arena leaves nothing to be desired, whether for active holidaymakers, those seeking peace and quiet, families or professional athletes, everyone gets their money's worth here. TVB Stuttgart took advantage of the optimal conditions for the fourth time and spent its summer training camp in Zell am Ziller from 18 - 25 July 2022.
The handball Bundesliga players, also known as the "WILD BOYS", appreciate the varied possibilities of the region and not only trained in the sports hall for their handball training, but also took advantage of the diverse range of sports on offer in Zell. The Zell amusement park, running sessions along the Ziller or a bike tour provided a lot of variety in the daily training routine and so the Stuttgart team was able to shine with a victory in the test match against ULZ Sparkasse Schwaz in Schwaz. As in previous years, the team was hosted by the 4-star superior Hotel Theresa. They found time to relax there and were able to enjoy the excellent cuisine as well as the hospitality of the Egger family. A hut evening at the Rösslalm, a triathlon in Gerlos, a golf tournament with the sponsors and other activities in the fresh mountain air strengthened the team spirit of the professional team.
Coach Roi Sánchez, who took part for the second time this year, was more than satisfied with the all-round offer in Zell-Gerlos: "As in previous years, the overall package consisting of the Hotel Theresa, the Crossfit Zillertal and the training halls provided us with excellent conditions for a training camp. Everyone involved felt more than comfortable this year as well."
